  8. Feels inspired to start the O Gauge adventure after being criticised from an Armchair observer that I am "Not a real modeller, because I don't hammer everything out of sheet brass... but use RTR components"

Horsted Keynes, and east grinstead will remain, all be out door sections need quite a bit of work, Instead it will be a sort of exhibition layout, which can be split up and taken appart, has been in plan for a while, just at this time designing buildings to be scratch built.. of course layout will be sheffield park. :)

  12. 24 square feet of cork... secured. Phew.

  13. A dilemma... Bachmann 4-CEP or a Hornby 4-VEP? Or most likely a more suitable 2-EPB? Oh dear... There can be only one.

    1. Welly

      Welly

Don't bother with the Hornby 4VEP, the Bachmann models are far better - I own one example of each so I know!

    2. Matloughe

      Matloughe

I have read all three threads thoroughly, but so far the only conclusion I have is I hope Bachmann do a 4-CIG.

    3. Welly

      Welly

I would love a 4CIG myself but I love any SR Mk1 EMU!

  14. Has fingers crossed the glue is man enough to hold the signal in the base plate. :D

    2. Horsetan

    3. Matloughe

      Matloughe

Trying to keep the base & post together is challenge enough. Right now it might go back into the box...

  15. Is unpopular in the house today... might be the amount of O Gauge trackwork littering the floor in an attempt to get a Micro Shunting Layout. :-D

  18. While everyone else is at Warley - I am marking out and cutting the track, trying to be clever and arrance the cuts to coincide with the baseboard join... I already need an additional Yard of track.

    1. 10800

      10800

Isn't it better to cut at the baseboard join after you've laid it?

    2. Matloughe

      Matloughe

      Probably. :-D

I like to do things differently, that way I can say it doesn't work. Its not so bad currently cellotaping the plan together as it keeps moving.

  19. Starting an interim project... currently sketching a 1869 coach drawing into 7mm scale... Any tips for a possible scratch building adventure?

    1. Coldgunner

    2. Matloughe

      Matloughe

I wish - something far more modest. I am intending to rebody a GW Toad into a Metropolitan 1869 4-Wheel Brake Third for that lovely 'Light Railway' feel.

      Matloughe

Perhaps I should ask the question of 'Southern' or 'Great Western' on the next conversation. :-)

  24. Is becoming more & more disenchanted with Hornby's locomotives... Sure they look pretty but that have no guts in them it seems. Perhaps I am just unlucky.

  25. My SR terminus seems to have taken a hybrid LB&SCR with GWR Coaching stock look... intriguing.
