  1. I’m sure it will run superbly and we’re looking forward to seeing it along with your good self! -Just hope the layout doesn’t let it down! We have just re-wired the control panel from the original Ray Goad made (it was built in the 70’s so we had to update it due to some issues with ageing switches etc). Testing will commence tonight as due to the club being closed for so long we have only had a couple of months to do the upgrade Andy
  2. Thanks for the compliments! It certainly helps having a layout that gives you that depth of field for photos and you have also achieved that with your class 33 pic! I love the wagon on the hill you can almost hear the driver grappling with the gears to navigate it!
  3. Running nearly an hour late 31 418 is captured deputising for the booked class 47 -doing its best to keep time on the Newcastle - Poole service just after exiting Catesby tunnel!

  5. The p-way team seem unfazed by the appearance of Scottish interloper 37 033 heading south on the ‘Thames-Clyde tractor’ railtour.

  10. After a trip to the lakes and stocking up at Booths before leaving- today’s hot weather has prompted me to crack open a Blonde beer with a Railway connection- Swan Blonde from Bowness Bay Brewing 4% named after MV Swan once of railway ownership. https://www.nationalhistoricships.org.uk/register/377/swan

  12. If your getting stressed watching model railways being built you want to try watching Darlington FC for over 30 years...............
  13. A moments silence!!!!!! I declare a national day of mourning! ——As I speak the locals in my cupboard have arranged a wreath and memorial!
  14. As mentioned almost anything loco wise could be working departmental services in 1987, for an idea of the types of departmental vehicles that were around and to choose a timeframe you might want to have a look Paul Bartletts excellent site for research. It gives a good insight into the varied vehicles and liveries that were in use. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brdepartmental
  15. Fantastic stock & photo! It’s very rare you see a Trans-Pennie properly modelled and that photo has taken me down memory lane very nicely!
  16. Most definitely a PEEWEE. Our system at Darlington was set out (several drums of cables were used to operate it for advanced lookouts) at Ferryhill for a job in the early 90’s and when we went back the next day it was gone! That was the last time I saw one -apart from lookout refresher courses.
  17. Sad news for darts fans- Andy Fordham has passed away, a larger than life and popular character from the darts fraternity!
  18. Well done England and congratulations Italy! No regrets - you gave us a Sunday that usually would be just another final and turned it into an event with the usual ups and downs! Come on England! Come on Darlo!
  19. Electrotren do a HO version of the Transfesa covered wagons. and some info on this thread
  20. Wow! Didn’t believe I would see us in a final after years of woe! And well done both ex-Darlington GK’s
