  1. I remember that as I think that I had that catalogue. What's that saying about putting lipstick on a pig...
  2. Did anyone ever buy the model of 86235 Novalty? 😁 https://lima-n-scale-locomotives.webnode.cz/album/electric-locomotives/img-6289-jpg/
  3. DE320540 which is an Ex GCR Barnum coach built in 1910 at Dukinfield Carriage & Wagon Works GCR No 664. by Keith Long
  4. They are not listed as Arrived on the Bachmann website so it's unlikely that they are actually are retailers at the moment.
  5. Googling about the Class 31 brought me to the website of The LocoShed in Manchester and they actually have for sale, not one, but two Lima train sets featuring the 31. They must be pretty rare these days as I suspect that not many people collect Lima N gauge. https://www.thelocoshedmcr.co.uk/product/lima-n-scale-157-a-class-31-freight-train-set/ https://www.thelocoshedmcr.co.uk/product/lima-186a-n-gauge-micro-model-class-31-passenger-train-set/
  6. Yeah, I was just going to say that I remember an 80s article about an 009 enthusiast who had built many diesel models using the Lima shunter chassis.
  7. As someone who has been waiting almost four years for Farish to release their Hawksworth BG in rail blue that is a very interesting variant.
  8. The Class 31 was actually produced though as you can buy them second hand if you are a masochist.
  9. Googling about the King actually turned this PDF of the 1982/83 catalogue https://www.ness-st.co.uk/pdf/Lima N 1982-83 British Catalogue.pdf So the list of proper British models is... Class 31 Class 55 Deltic Class 86 4F 0-6-0 MK1 BSK MK1 CK MK1 RMB MK1 BG BR 16T mineral wagon BR Standard brake van BR vent van??? BR MK1 Horsebox 7 Plank wagon Toad brake van MK1 CCT GWR/BR Siphon There's also a container wagon, but I don't know if it's actually based on a British prototype or not. And I can't work out if the King 4-6-0 was ever actually produced?
  10. Those are the only two Limas models that I own as they are some of the few items that are usable despite their flaws.
  11. I was browsing a website about the history of Wrenn and I never realised that for a time the Lima N Gauge range was sold under the Triang/Wrenn name. It mentioned that at one point that the items were sold by both Wrenn and by Lima in parallel. It got me thinking, does anyone know the full detailed history of the Lima N range? When did Wrenn abandon it to Lima? When were all the various models released? When did production stop? I know that they also sold various continental models in disguise, but I'm only really interested in the proper British models, including the monstrosities!
  12. Breakdown Train Unit - Relief (Staff) DS70121 at Eastleigh - c.1970. Converted from Maunsell CK S5595S built for the S&DJR in 1929 to Diag 2304; modified to BTU use in 1963, scrapped at Kings Norton on site by T.M.I. Metals July 1996." "
  13. I hope that the parcels on the train being pulled by the Class 28 were non-urgent!
  14. DM271726 & DM395799 sit outside Derby Works, 3rd April 1982 by Jamerail
  15. My thought was that an RBR would best, but I didn't want to prejudice the poll by mentioning it. Plus like a lot of older modellers I have fond memories of the Mainline 00 version.
  16. There's a Railroad version of it, so these parts may fit it. https://support.Hornby.com/hc/en-gb/article_attachments/360016351519
