  1. Fujifilm X-T30 camera, f22, 1.3sec, ISO160, 24mm Focal length, 2 x 5600k LED floodlights + LED overhead striplight in case anyone's interested.
  2. "A little advice from me is to crop the bottom off to remove what looks like the baseboard edge. " It's actually an inset siding in the paved yard area, but with the sun shining directly onto it it's overexposed and bleached out the detail. One of the problems with having a layout on a window cill!
  3. The latest addition to the district's loco allocation, 3MT 2-6-2T No. 82018, stands at Cill after arriving with a short additional goods working.
  4. The passenger service from Epple has arrived in the platform, clearing the section to Grenham for the evening goods to depart. Driver Newman eases open the regulator and B4 No. 30096 rolls down the yard with its short train ...
  5. Shunting completed there's now a short while before the evening goods is due to leave. Goods Guard John George has placed and checked his tail and sidelights. Off-duty Driver Higgs has elected to hitch a lift on the van's veranda as there isn't room for three on the B4's footplate,
  6. Right, the two vans are where they should be. Once the motor's arrived the two wagons on the stops of 2 road want spotting in front of this brake. Then the two t'other side of the brake want putting on 2 road's stops, Brake and two into road 1 and the remaining two on top of t'other two in road 2, then put the loco into road 1. We should get that done before the motor's due away at 5 to. That'll give us twenty minutes for a brew before the goods is due away, OK, got that?
  7. It's a lovely sunny day as B4 0-4-0T No. 30096 rolls into Cill with the evening goods. The somewhat unusual sight of a B4 this far into South Eastern territory doesn't seem to have registered with the group engaged in clearing weeds from the end of the block paved area in the yard. Typically there is one person actually doing the work and four advising him what he's doing wrong.
  8. Ivatt 2MT No. 41212 arriving at Cill with Maunsell set No. 179 and a PMV forming the 18:12 from Epple.
  9. 'C' class 31227 stands in the loop with the mid-day goods awaiting the 13:58 arrival from Epple to clear the single line.
  10. 73 963 tops 73 962 on the 11:09 from Tonbridge West Yard Plain Line Pattern Recognition track inspection train passing Plum Pudding Island as it approaches Birchington on March 9th, 2022. The formation was 73 963, 6261, 999550, 1256, 977969, 73 962.
  11. Brighton built Fairburn 2-6-4T No. 42105 runs round its inter-regional train at Cill. While storm Franklin rages outside it's always sunny at Cill! Fireman and Guard supervise while the shunter couples up ... Having pushed its train back into the platform 42105's driver waits time before departing with the 16:38 to Crewe which it will take as far as Epple Jct. Today's through portion consists of an ex-works Stanier BSK and a couple of Collett coaches.
  12. Ivatt 2MT No. 41309 rolls into Cill with Set No. 43 forming the 12.45p.m. service from Epple.
  13. Ex SE&CR 'C' class No. 31227 pauses whilst worrying wagons this afternoon.
  14. Surely a bridge rectifier is only required if an overheight bus has crashed into it?
  15. My layout and majority of stock is period 5 (and later) with a few display items from period 1 (specifically SECR though).
  16. I had breakfast in there this morning! Not an omelette though ...
  17. Do the wagons stay in pairs so they don't get mugged by the Panniers?
  18. I reduced the light output of the LEDs by sticking small squares of yellow sticky label over them, two over most of them. Less light = less light bleed, simples!
  19. At what width does a plank become a panel? The photos of the non brake ends of the EPs of the Hattons 4 and 6 wheel coaches and the non brake ends of the Hornby 6 wheel coaches that I have all have 5 equal width full height panels.
  20. I'll bet passengers in the four wheeled coaches will appreciate it too!
  21. My missing Brake Third arrived yesterday to complete my BT-F-T-BT 4-set. Light bleed through the body side paintwork is definitely an issue in total darkness but not too noticeable in the lowest light I operate under. With a terminus to fiddle yard setup I find shunting three link fitted wagons too difficult in the dark! I may investigate reducing the brightness in a few days time but for now I'm having too much fun running them in my temporally challenged world!
