Same discount code is now also appearing for me on South Devon Railway shop. Can't figure out how to link to all their listings from the app but here is a listing to help get to the rest.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383653209020

I tried the discount code to an address in Northern Ireland but it said it couldn't be applied to my order ?

I've tried this before with the same result.

    Never found out why ?

  2. The one thing that drives me mad about E Bay is the inability of sellers to quote an accurate postage cost :mad_mini:

I've seen items costing a few pounds & weighing a few ounces costing £14.99 + to post from the UK to Southern Ireland.

Yet the same items can cost as little as £1.50 to post to Northern Ireland.

They quote the same postage rate to send to Russia or Australia as they would to Ireland ?

Into the 1990s we were still importing asbestos in the 10000 tons per annum range.

The first thoughts that asbestos may be dangerous was at some point in the 1800s.

Yes I think I read somewhere that the silver paint used for tin man was highly toxic.

I was just thinking that myself ?

    It was the tin man.

His face was painted with white face paint coated with aluminium dust.

    He ended up in hospital.

I seem to remember that the original models had 2 flywheels, in addition to the 5-pole motor. My hand has been hovering over the wallet for some time now, but:-

    A- Is it  a lemon?

    B- Can it be upgraded?

Thoughts and opinions are, as usual, gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

If you can get them cheap then they are worth it but only if they're cheap.

SDR's ebay page has some new stuff added.  Mostly Dapol 4mm GWR railcars (but some other items incl blue Western).  £126.99 with 20pct off code makes them approx £101.60

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/southdevonrailway/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I tried that with a Northern Ireland address & it told me "This code can't be applied to your order" ?

Maybe its just UK mainland ?

He’s been there for months, my ROD and great western both came from him for around £50. However beware he was less than helpful when the motor of the great western one gave up after a few days. Promised a replacement but it never appeared that’s why I had to source a viable alternative . In the long run it worked out as I am happy with my more reliable Hornby 5 pole replacement. The ROD version I have not had any problems with.

I presume we're talking about the same seller so perhaps you were unlucky.

I bought a couple of Deans Goods from him at about that price.

The 2nd one a WD ran like a dog. The rear driving axle or wheels were out of true so I emailed him to tell him I could do nothing with it.

He sent me another without any problem & didn't even want the first one back I presume because I don't live in the UK.

At least you were able to sort yours out.

The driver must feel a bit apprehensive with that gun pointing into the cab.  No SPADs when the Traffic Inspector is watching so closely lol ;)

That's the threat, drive or else

Part of the problem is that I’ve been missing vital putts in competitions.

I just happened to see  this video of how to putt under pressure on YouTube, but it hasn’t really helped.

In fact I’ve watched it 20 times and still can’t recall what I’m supposed to do........ ;)

Pitch & Putt is much simpler.

You just pitch it up & put it in :P

That's disturbingly true. Which is why I stick to the rules all men should be mindful of:

    1. Never wake her up suddenly.

    2. Never question the strange things she likes to buy.

    3. Never contradict any claim that she has "nothing to wear".

    4. Never buy overpriced cr@p off eBay!

No 4 is a step to far for me ;)

Easy for you to say, you don't happen to live with a strange woman who owns several swords. At least we don't have a pond.

But you might have a pool of blood if you're not careful ;)

Came across this seller who2538-4 on eBay who has around 40 Oxford Rail items (Dean goods, N7s and Adams Radials) in the £50-£55 price range plus £5 postage. All advertised as BNIB and you can make an offer.

    Steve

    I've bought from him.

    Very good to deal with.
