  1. You could always try the James May method. Wait for an X3 and follow it
  2. It's relatively common practice, when something sells out they add a couple of grand to the price until it comes back into stock. I think it's to do with the relative cost of reposting as opposed to amending an entry.
  3. This thread has put images in my mind of a 31 trying to get a long rake of mk2s up the hill to Blackfriars from City TLink....
  4. 32-782A is one of the many unrefurbished Bachmann 37s that suffers from the gouge in the bodyside under the cantrail grilles. The gouge is the reason tht I didn't buy it. I was going to buy 3 or 4 and renumber, but I just can't live with that glaring error.
  5. Interesting that people consider it clear that you are not valid in a FC seat with a SC ticket on a SC only service.. To me it is clear but in the opposite direction. "except the holder of a valid ticket entitling them to be in that particular place" This to me clearly means that a SC ticket is valid. The service is advertised as being SC only. Therefore all seats on that service are SC. An SC ticket does therefore fulfil the "entitling them to be in that particular place" requirement as it is explicity advertised as all seats being SC.
  6. The way the voting is going, SLW now look almost certain to produce the highland 24/1 with token catcher recesses. The Bachmann one isn't going to be the version with recesses. Still, I think the future is looking bleak for the Bachmann headcode 24 despite this difference.
  7. The highland ones are beginning to look like a certainty along with the ice cream van.
  8. Yup it's the nose grilles. Version 1 is for the hybrid grilles, one end 2 section, one end 4 section Version 2 is for the full set of 4 section Version 3 is for the full set of 2 section Note that although described as 37/4 detailing parts, they should actually be described as refurbished 37s as they are for all the subclasses /4 to /9. 37/4s were all refurbished early in the plan, so all of them had a full set of 4 section nose grilles when first converted. Some grille swaps did happen, but I'm not aware of any 37/4s receiving 2 section grilles, doesn't mean it didn't happen though.
  9. The substitution of a 117 power car with a bubble was a fairly frequent move to put a 3 car set back into service when a power car needed attention that couldn't be carried out overnight.
  10. 1mm white lining (intended for Irish mk 2 and 3 coaches) is available from Studio Scale Models. http://www.studio-scale-models.com/TCoaches.shtml
  11. Or an upfront deposit - 50 quid or so would ease the cashflow situation somewhat wouldn't it? ps Metcalfe don't do round chimneys.
  12. Yup, it seems common now for the review samples and main production to leave China at the same time. The difference is that the review samples come by air, the rest by sea.
  13. Not a problem if you don't stop at the stations with screens, which they might want to do.
  14. 001 - construction SL 002 - petroleum IM 015 - construction IM 039 - construction SL 055 - coal TO then CF 063 - petroleum CF 093 - coal TO then CF Worthy of note is that 093 was released from Brush unnamed and ran for some time in service before being named.
  15. I see Hattons still have the 24/1 as estimated price 73.06. I'd be surprised if it comes in at much under 120, (if it arrives at all).
  16. Beat me to it. I was about to comment on this one that I have been waiting for, but given developments elsewhere, Bachmann might not get any dosh off me for headcode 24s - and I was looking at 5 or 6 of them.
  17. All recent 37s with boiler ports have also had the gouge in the bodyside under the cantrail grilles. Are you ensuring that this model doesn't suffer from this error?
  18. The signal controlling the approach to the junction at Patchway (heading towards TM or Parkway) has had a flashing yellow when set for TM direction for donkey's years. I first noticed it sometime in the late 80s, I don't know how long it had already been there.

No overhead EMU yet?? Could have fooled me. https://www.railsofsheffield.com/class-350-1-desiro-4-car-emu-350-111-apollo-silver-link-unbranded-31-030-Bachmann-JJJA15421.aspx a bargain too,
  20. There's a fair few mk3 sleepers around that aren't on their original bogies, BR kept the bogies as useful spares when they disposed of many of the sleepers. Several preserved lines snapped them up a sleeping accomodation for volunteers to use. They are usually on accomodation bogies, don't recall seeing a fully grounded one.
  21. The new loco is the headcode 24 surely, as predicted by many including me.
  22. ?? Only D5133-50 fit that description. D5114-32 had cutouts.
  23. Vote via email and mention it in the text - that's what I've done.
