In my case the demand is already there. I have six Bachmann 37s, but would have many more if they had been produced without the glaring errors like the cantrail trough, undersized cab windows etc. I haven’t got the time to rebuild every model I buy, hence only six. If someone produces a quality unrefurbished 37 to the same sort of standard as SLW’s 24 then my savings are in for a severe bashing. When Bachmann announced D6984 (green, skirts) I was intending to buy 3 or 4 and renumber them and fit etched cab windows. When I saw one in the flesh I just couldn’t bring myself to buy even 1, that’s how bad it is to my eyes.

The livery descriptions are a bit vague on some of the later models, no mention of whether they have the white lining or are just black/orange.

Where on earth did you get this nonsense from? The Hornby Mk2D TSO has 8 windows, always has had. It was the old Mk3 that had 7 vice 8 windows and that was put right several years ago.

I think your finger slipped there, should have hit the key one to the left. ps I voted by sending an email, this allows you to be more specific on quantities. I specified different quantities depending on whether one or both were produced (G/H).

It gets worse, now it says the delivery date is Tuesday 28 August. Having gone to considerable inconvenience to be at home today I am very much not impressed. and to cap it all I wasn't intending to be at home next Tuesday either, another day trip cancelled.

The courier company are pants. I followed the link, which said that my parcel was last recorded as having been received and in Derby yesterday at 10:18. Today, clicked the link again and got last recorded as being in Derby at 12:04 today!!

The first batch were fitted with tablet catcher equipment. The second batch starting at D8070 were not fitted, they just had empty recesses. As far as I am aware, none of them ever received catchers, but I may be wrong. Cue someone posting a phot of one..... ps Bachmann made a model of a second batch member incorrectly fitted with catchers.

D5300-19 were built without tablet catchers, D5320 up all had tablet catchers. D5319 was later modified and fitted with tablet catchers, but the rest of the batch never had catchers.

I remember having a short cab ride in a peak at Sheffield Midland when the driver decided that I could stay aboard while he picked up a buffet car from the middle road and put it back on the front of the train. They won't be operating out of Lime St for very long - major rebuilding will see Lime St closed for several weeks in the early summer. I think the LIV-SCA will be starting/ending at Man Vic, so the diagrams will alter substantially.

Having waited such a long time for the 21, I was dismayed to see that there's no Kittybrewster tablet fitted locos on the list. Are these to come later, or aren't they going to bother? edit - just looked back through the thread and D6150 was quoted as one of the models to be produced, which has evaporated it seems.

He's just sold a similar conversion kit for a 124 on ebay too. Not on the SilverFox website though.

It was reported somewhere that the number of votes required for G and H were higher than for A-F because of the extra work required for the revised body shape. If this is indeed true, then I suspect that G and H are inextricably linked, production of one would almost certainly make production of the other a no-brainer because the cost of producing the second would immediately drop due to this work having been already done for the first.

For me the most interesting thing is that semi-hidden in the announcement of the retooled 25 is an indication that the 24/1 is going ahead. Many were expecting this to be dropped bearing in mind developments elsewhere.
