That's correct. The TTS will on produce sound on DCC. One of the drawbacks of it being so cheap

So here is the list of everything I plan on doing to Hornby's R3169 Olton Hall when it is released. Big list of things haha: Replace moulded smoke is dart Add 2 black lamps on front buffer beam Add splasher lining Replace plastic whistles with turned brass ones Paint whistle shield black Paint brass beading on front corners of cab Add brass beading around cab windows Replace the moulded handrail beneath cab windows and add upright one in front of windows too Complete the cabside lining Paint brass beading along back corners of cab Complete the tender lining Replace moulded handrails on rear corners and back of tender Remove water scoop and add a hydrant pipe fitting beneath 2nd and 3rd tender axles. Remove 'GREAT crest WESTERN' from tender and replace with HOGWARTS RAILWAYS crest Add etched 'HOGWARTS CASTLE' nameplates, number plates, and smokebox number and shed plate. Then after I will look at DCC sound and smoke generator as well. Gonna be my flagship loco so will be going all out on this one.

Was just chatting with someone from hattons and the projected release date for Caerphilly Castle is 16/12/14. Fingers crossed!

The W1 would be a fabulous locomotive.

I would imagine that many of the differences between locos would be seperately fitted details to enable any loco to be produced. Since this is going head to head with Hattons king.

I have now cancelled my DJM kings and preordered the Hornby ones.

Hopefully this is just a body sample, which they have just used an old chassis for the purpose of photographs. Surely they will do a new chassis.

All I was doing was typing what I read in Model Rail, which had been confirmed by Chris Leigh several posts back, that the 5 pole is vastly more expensive.

He has gone solo with his own company called KohlerComms. He still has an affiliation with Hornby, through his Simon Says blog.

I'd go with the humbrol Brunswick green. Coming from the same place it's likely to have the same finish but I can't guarantee that.
