  1. Hullavington in Wiltshire
  2. Back from the silly season, I think.
  3. The line in the first square was ex-LNWR, the line in the second square wasn't. These lines met an ex-LNWR EW line at the aforementioned junction. This EW line is still in place, though disused.
  4. Less than a mile to the south-east, there was one of those railway crossroads that seemed to materialise in the middle of nowhere. About three miles south of the junction is this square.
  5. Ardley, between Banbury and Bicester, with Upper Heyford airfield on the LHS
  6. this is two squares to the east;
  7. next. there seem to be lots of ducks on OS maps nowadays.
  8. LLangammarch Wells I still haven't worked out how to post blocks bigger than four squares so here are the four to the east.
  9. Clue - this was one of the Colonel Stephens lines.
  10. It's a disused line on the southern outskirts of Edinburgh
  11. The geometric appearance of the path and track in the NE part of the square is because they are on the edge of an international airport. If the railway line is followed for about 4 miles eastwards it passes the site of what was once a scrapyard. Fortunately for airline passengers, these two facts are not linked.......
  12. South of Lesmahagow, next to the M74.
  13. Passenger services were lost on this line as a result of the Beeching cuts, though it remained open for freight. The passenger services were restored in 1995.
