  1. Stuart, The scrap yard looks superb. I particularly like the two class 25 cabs. Well worth sending the 47 to you as I think you have done it justice. All the best Jeff
  2. Kevin, It is odd that Leaway Park has been mentioned as I have just been flicking through my 1989 bound set of Railway Modeller which has a 2 page article on Leaway Park! It looked pretty good but the electrics sounded terrifying - thank god for DCC! Regards Jeff
  3. Hi Stuart, 47 525 RIP - I think it looks fantastic now. I like the windows and rust streaking you have put on it but my particular favourite is the paint outlining what should be flame-cut and saved to be auctioned off. I might be tempted to buy it myself...;-) I might have to have a go at 'making' one of these myself. Keep the updates coming and don't do yourself down as I think it would stand up at most exhibitions, especially as I haven't seen it modelled before. Regards Jeff
  4. Fabulous modelling and many thanks for sharing. How long do you think this has taken so far? Regards Jeff
  5. Kevin, A question about your Powercab 5 amp. DOes it remember waht a loco was 'doing' (i.e. lights on, sound on, etc.) when it is not saved in the recall function? If not (as mine doesn't), how do you use it to select new locos without it forgetting the previous one? The reason I ask is we use Lenz on Oulton TMD and this remembers all locos and the settings they had. Thanks Jeff
  6. Smashed windows look really good. Shame really as this was the first loco I ever 'flush glazed'. I think it was about 20 years ago I did it - where does the time go? Keep the pics coming Jeff
  7. Stuart, Any progress with the scrapped 47 yet? I am looking forward in particular to seeing how you create the distinctive 'bow' in the chassis. Look forward to an update soon Jeff
  8. Stuart, 47 525 has been loaded on to the truck for its final journey to the great scrap yard in the sky! Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Regards Jeff
  9. Stuart, I have an old Hornby 47 in original Intercity Livery 47525 - yours for postage (£2.50-ish) if you want it. PM if you do and I will send it Jeff
  10. Gordon, Recieved my copy of Model Rail today. Inspirational article showing the progress you have made. Good to see that RMweb got a mention. Make sure you all buy the mag and read all about it. Excellent! Jeff

  12. Personally I love the little shunter you have built. Definitely use it on Tunsley as it will always be a talking point. I never cease to be amazed by how many people comment on 'realism' of models. Always prevalant at exhibitions and generally from non-exhibitors. It is your layout, so you make the rules. Keep the fabulous pictures of your layouts coming. Thanks Jeff
  13. Stuart, I really like the scrapyard - very effective. I particularly like the Steam engine that has been dumped at the back. Is that next for the cutters torch? Keep the updates coming Jeff
  14. Thanks Stuart, I wish Oulton was mine - owned and built by Allan Cromarty. I am just a willing operator who gets to bring some of his stock to play. Keep the pics coming Jeff
  15. Impressive weathering on the peak and I also really like the flame cut numbers - maybe we will have to sneak through the fence and 'lift' them. Is the weathering hand brushed or airbrush? Colours look good - which brand have you used. Thanks Jeff
  16. Ruston, Your stock looks superb and they deserve that layout so they can be displayed in their natural environment. Good luck with the layout. Jeff
  17. Flood, At the speed you guys work at I'm sure the outstanding pipework will be done by the weekend !!Seriously impressed with the quality of the layout and I enjoyed watching it at the Derby show the other week. Many thanks for sharing. Jeff
  18. Dave, This is a truly outstanding photograph. I can't tell if this is a picture of a model or the real thing. Many thanks for posting. Jeff
  19. Hi Kevin, I have had a quick look through your thread again as I was asked about weathering and I use your fabulous guide. As I went through I found this picture of 2 pallet vans I have a couple of these but the couplings make them a ridiculous distance apart. Can I ask what method you have used to get them to couple closer? Many thanks Jeff
  20. Hi Flood, The quality of the modelling and the atmosphere is superb. Keep the pictures coming. Quick question; I have read through the thread againa nd I can't see what material you use to make the building carcass from. Could you let me know. Many thanks Jeff
  21. John, Just read through the whole thread, very impressive! Wiring looks good but I am really impressed with the weathering and painting of the platform. Keep the pics coming Jeff
  22. Kevin, I have been looking through your thread again. I am interested in your cassette system for storing extra stock. Is there a chance that you can take some pictures of how it is constructed as I am thinking of adding something similar to Buxstone? Many thanks Jeff
  23. Kevin, Hope you don't mind me posting a picture on your thread .... I have to thank you for posting your weathering guide as I finally plucked up the courage to have a go at weathering some of my stock. As recommended by you I started on a wagon and had a go. I ended up weathering 4 Heljan Cargowaggons and I am really pleased with the results. I have never weathered stock before and I will now look at weathering more of it. Once again many thanks. Jeff
