  1. Dennis (not Derek) Lovett has retired from Bachmann and is indeed working for Locomotion. All detailed in the Locomotion thread on here.
  2. I believe Olivia’s Trains in Sheffield can supply replacement motors, possibly Howes of Oxford (Kidlington?) also.
  3. As well as the D210, Chris Higgs also did the etches for the D214 Articulated Twin and the D246 Brake Thirds along with underframes for the D242 Artic. Twin set designed to use the MJT sides from Dart Castings. These were commisioned to make the Marylebone Suburban sets by I think, members of the Aylesbury Model Railway society, I was lucky enough to be able to order a ful set of the etches after an invitation of interest was posted on RM Web a few years back. The designs and the etches are amongst the best I have seen and Chris is certainly a master at this.
  4. The V4 is not on the website, you will have to contact Mike by e-mail or by PM through his thread on RM Web Small Suppliers section
  5. Why not just buy a set of etches from Mike Edge, you will just need a suitable diameter brass tube for the boiler and the readily available castings. Mike can even supply a resin cast chimney and dome. Will save you a lot of fabrication time.
  6. They look very much like the 10' HD whitemetal bogie sides that came with my RDEB triplet set from Dan Pinnock many years ago. They could be built rigid or with compensation. Not sure if they were of Dan's design as I understand some of his castings came from Adrian Swain of ABS Models.
  7. Hi Arthur, 'One more card up your sleeve', so that could be anything from an F8 2.4.2 Tank to the fascinating No. 825 Stumpf Uniflow 4.6.0 (or even the NER Pacific), one can dream.
  8. It would be good to see a list of the layouts and traders that will be attending this show.
  9. Slaters used to do an etch for the end brake gear, it would be good if they re-introduced that as well.
  10. This time of year Dan is ussually preparing stock for the Telford 'O' Gauge exhibition, so would not expect a new 4mm list until after this show. But I hope to be proved wrong as there is quite a bit of stuff I wish to order from what I understand the next list will cover.
  11. Andrew Jukes the owner of Exactoscale, has anounced in the latest EM Gauge Society magazine that his range of products will initially be available through the Scalefour Society and the EM Gauge Society. He also indicates that he intends to create his own ordering facilities. It is intended the C&W wheels along with track and turnout kits will be available by or during September 2018. Eventually it is hoped to re-introduce the P4 loco wheel range. It is planned to offer the full range of track in EM and P4.
  12. Am I correct in thinking that Dave Alexander Models usually attends this show. I see he is not in the traders Iist this year which is a shame as I was hoping to pick up an Lner K4 loco kit.
  13. Is this company still trading, their website seems to have dissappered.
  14. I am after a Backwoods Miniatures kit for the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Beyer Garret loco. Should anyone have one of these they would be prepared to sell please send me a PM with the price. Thanks,
  15. I bought the first batch late 2016 and the second batch early 2017, so they have been around for a while.
  16. Andrew at Wizard does have the correct underframes for the LNER (Great Eastern Region) 52'6'' coaches as designed by Rupert specifically for these coaches. Why they do not come in the kit for the body shell is strange when as previously noted here, all the other RDEB body kits do come with the correct underframe. I have purchased half a dozen of them from Wizard for my RDEB 52'6'' coach stock, but cannot see them on their price list, just ask Andrew and I am sure if not in stock he will have a batch run off with his next order to the etchers.
  17. A few years back I read where a few sets of etches were produced in 4mm scale from David Andrews 7mm etch artwork for the GCR/LNER B7 4.6.0 loco and tender. If anyone has a set of these etches they would be prepared to sell, I would be pleased to buy them at a reasonable price.
  18. I have recently acquired an example of the above kit but without instructions. If anyone has a set of instructions they could scan and e-mail to me, alternatively copy and post to me (reasonable costs will be re-imbursed) I would be most grateful. Inititial contact by PM please. SteveT
  19. So it was you that nicked my pint of milk, you owe me threpence and three farthings!
  20. It was actually posted on RM Web, well at least thats where I found it and responded to the survey.
  21. My money is on the Vale of Rheidol loco also, especially as Ben Jones previously of Model Rail has now joined Heljan I have noticed today. With Heljan's steps into the narrow gauge market with the L&B loco albeit faltering at first, I am sure this will be improved with the next batch giving them a good base to move on to the V of R loco. Time will tell
  22. Was anything further ever reported on the Model Rail survey to identify their next commissioned loco, it included interesting subjects such as a Jones Goods, a Vale of Rheidol loco, 15xx and 16xx loco’s amongst 6 others. It all seems to have gone very quiet on the subject?
  23. Had a really good day at S4N today, excellent layouts, good friends to catch up with and well balanced mix of trade stands, always more things on the shopping list than the money stretches to. Found a set of etches for a GCR/LNER D9 so worth going just for those. Got home and realised I had not seen Dart Castings stand, they were listed in the programme, did they not attend or was I walking round with my eyes closed at that point?
  24. Looking forward to seeing Pulborough again after so many years, well all the layouts really but Pulborough impresses by it's size. Shopping list all complete and ready to go and de-fibulator at the ready to help the wallets recovery.
