Ah, that seasonal timewarp where you have no idea what day of the week it is...

Sorry for the outage today. The server started singing 'I don't like Mondays' and that was it.

BR operating practices/publication details can be diverse/complex and often have little or no bearing on model railways, however, I’ll offer up any content that can help modellers, for discussion or comment.

On Pointless, nobody ever says, "I'd like to see questions about railways come up".
And when asked what they would do with the prize money, no-one ever says, "Well Xander, I'd buy a huge shed and build the model railway of my dreams".
That's what I would say!

Fed up with Christmas, last year was the best ever, because it was cancelled.

I had to use the train. Twice.

Has anyone here heard of railway modelling fora? You can take pictures of and write about model railways and post them online for other people who share your interests to see. What's more, everyone can read through and post with just a single login, without having to shoot off to random social media pages that they might not like using. I know a really good one called RMWeb. You can find it here: https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php
I'd highly recommend joining!

Which article of Sod's Law is it that decrees you will never notice the faults in a kit until after the point at which correcting the fault would be straightforward.

Wow, what's happened to this place? Pop up ads everywhere that I guess no one needs. Really awful.

Radio 3 has gone all psuedish and arty-farty on me again, so I've turned the radio to Classic FM, that'll teach it.
-
Just one slight problem:
R3, Classic FM and Scala are marketed as classical music channels - so some of us tune into them in the hope of hearing classical music.
However, to qualify as music, the stuff they play on these stations needs to have something recognizable as a tune - which instantly disqualifies the atonal "squeaky gate" cr@p that one station seems intent on inflicting on their listeners.
I haven't tried Scala yet - so I can't comment about that one.
In practice though, I've got a radio tuned into Classic FM - and a CD player with a decent selection of CDs to my taste. Works for me.

New Bond film followed by a curry for wife Kim's birthday last night - you cant buy class!
No spoilers but classic Bond, great stunts and car chases, humour and pathos and the bad guy has his own island - what's not to like!!
