  1. Hang on, Eagle, win a comp, wrecked trolley and 8 iron in 1 sentence. Was that all in 1 round? If so how did the last 2 happen, do tell. (Cos I obviously didn't break my 3 wood last weekend - It was all a bad dream, as was the 10 on the last) Despite playing the best golf of my life I've gone the other way and am having a couple of weeks off and hopefully this will be a modelling weekend.
  2. Managed to build my baseboard so the shed door wouldn't close. Feel like such (insert words of choice here!!)

I like you're thinking there. Now how will SWMBO react when I tell her?

  4. Over a months since the last update can only mean 1 question - How's the golf?
  5. Damn my eyes. N gauge is dead. Long live OO (at somepoint this year)

  7. Twas lovely out on the course this morning bar 2 mins when it felt like a lake turned it self upside down. Just had to aim some what left or right when it was a cross wind. With the stairs, what's the head room that will be left as you come up? Will we be seeing picture of a plasters on your head or is there more room that it looks?
  8. If Kenton is top of the wish list poll, what would happen if he was produced in OO rather than P4?
  9. At 588K views, does this topic mean Kenton is the most loved thing on RMweb now? Should we be worried when he gets back
  10. I'm at Castle Royle not to far away. Played Sand Martins a few times but have one of those job things that gets in the way. Look forward to see how this version evolves as the same with watching trains go by. Have to say in my case n gauge may just be starting to beat my eyes.
  11. Fair weather golfer (and fingers crossed its dry on Sunday morning for me). I looked up High Post and it turns out you play golf not far from me, and your club has a home and away match for the Sandcastle trophy against where I play. I would suggest you go to something simple like a small BLT but just doesn't seem to fit with the ambition in your head. As the weather turns I am looking at my layout in the same way of there is another idea and I can fix some of the faults I have.
  12. Packers fan since I got in to it in about 93. Some American consultants where I worked ran a football pool and I won the first 3 weeks despite knowing nothing. Need to get a trip in Mid winter with the snow to see the pack at some point, along with my other dream of going to see the Oakland A's at baseball. Have a feeling though it may not be a great season for the Pack, but we shall see.
  13. Joe Bonamassa soon to be followed by a bit of Volbeat.
  14. Forgetting the 128, I order a small pile of there N gauge clay wagons and a very well wrapped and packed parcel arrived 24 hrs later. Great service and packing protection way in advance of some suppliers. I remember when we were down there a number of years ago on holiday, they did recognise me due to the name on my card as up till the point they put the current website in they were the main supplier I used. Only reason they are not my shop of choice is because I can pop to Alton Model Centre from work and that means I get to browse. :-)
  15. Jealous. Where I play they only give vouchers back that have to be spent at the club rather than converting to railway currency. With your point test, have you ever come close to not catching them which may be a problem with the current state of the boards and the drop of doom at the end or is there a fair amount of room between the points and the end of the board?
  16. has just been naughty and bought some n gauge clay wagons from Kernow. What will the wife say when its delivered tomorrow ? :-)

  21. Thanks for the reply. I tracked Rob down and it turns out he lives 5 mins walk from my house, so will be sending him a few pictures and hopefully talking getting some hedgerow from him, along with some tips I can use myself. Hope to see this again some time.
  22. Carl Saw this today and loved the layout and its running qualities. I'm going to avoid starting again but the curved backscenes combined with the depth of the modelled area did make me think about future layouts. Just checking, but earlier in the thread it mentions the hedrows were supplied by Hedrow Scenics. Just checking as the text around that is a bit wierd in the post. I'm asking as i loved the look of them and think they would work well on my layout. One other question having seen the layout in the flesh I am interested in the clean lines between roads, field and railway. Was that a design thing in your head or is adding it another of the many jobs? Finally, Who does your weathering? I noticed a flier at the back and forgot to ask for one.
  23. I'll play - Stoke Poges. Golf club there used in films such as Goldfinger, Layer Cake & Bridget Jones Diary
  24. Couple of thoughts. 1. How big is the fiddle yard going to be? With Old Oak Common there is a big sense of depth to the site, and a reasonable amount of track between the main lines and the first sheds. I am thinking maybe you keep the fiddle yard to 3 tracks a side using 3 way points for the fan to maximise the storage 2. What will be the scenic break at either end? 3. How many main line tracks? I guess with only 2ft you will have to keep to 2. Now for the really important part. So is that why you got the job at Dapol, to develop the loco's you need for you own layout? Damn fine work if you can get it :-)
  25. Can understand the need to scratch the golf itch as if you tried to play in December getting trench foot would have been possible. I hope to be scratching the itch myself in the morning. Just need to get up in time to get one of the early slots in the roll up. Also, do you ever use golf to vent frustration? I find sometimes, just picturing the thing that is bugging you on the ball, and then smacking it as hard as I can a great release. Can't do that to a model or something not going right.
