  1. Interesting to see the model of 37027 in the livery with full yellow surround. Here is a photo I took of 37027 near Fort William on my first visit 16th September 1981. Looking forward to seeing 37112.
  2. Thanks for the info. I thought I had taken my photo of 26032 in the summer of 1985 but I guess it must have been 1984.
  3. Anyone know when 26032 and other Inverness 26s acquired the yellow/black highland stag. On my photos all Inverness 26s had white stags.
  4. Great announcement from Heljan although I already have 26032.
  5. Yes. They are one and the same. Simply means that the loco comes fitted with a dcc sound decoder. Bachmann often use the term 'DCC Sound Onboard'. V4 refers to a ESU Loksound V4 sound decoder.
  6. Not that I'm aware of. However, there is an Italian Railways Society for UK-based modellers. http://www.italianrailways.co.uk/
  7. The TTA wagons with the spacer causing the lower coupling height are older releases. Newer released TTA wagons don't have the spacer and come out at a height compatible with Bachmann locos and newer wagons. My solution was to remove the spacer and glue the NEM socket to the wagon underside trying to line up the coupling height with the newer wagons. A bit of a botch but it worked. Having discovered this problem with older Bachmann wagons, I tend to avoid them and buy newer wagons.
  8. I don't care what people have ordered but I find this thread strangely addictive.
  9. My small fleet of boxcars seems to be dominated by Athearn rtr FMC boxcars. I couldn't resist buying another one from Ebay and weathering it this week.
  10. Another short video featuring more switching action. Enjoy!
  11. NS GP38-2 #5664 switching corn syrup cars. Strangely ,when I bought the loco it was sold by Atlas in their Master Series range as a GP38, which is also shown on the box. However, according to the markings on the cabside it is a GP38-2. Photo evidence seems to confirms this.
  12. Outstanding work! You certainly have a talent for detailing ansd repainting locos. I do hope you start building a layout soon, to run your superb locos.
  13. I hope you are going to start building a layout soon because your US diesels look great and then we can see them in 'USA and Canadian Railroads' forum. I just came across this thread by chance as I wouldn't normally look at the 'modifying models' forum.
  14. Here is the first video of the East Penn Industrial Spur, showing a typical ops session. Grab the beverage of your choice and enjoy!
  15. Working from prototype photos, I weathered a few more cement cars. These type of modern cars don't seem to be heavily weathered so I used a simple panel wash, favoured by military modellers, using an AK Interactive enamel wash. Trucks and wheels are painted with Likecolor acrylics with a little rust weathering powder added.
  16. The most common domestic coach that I saw in Austria during my visits in the early 90s were the 'Schlieren' type painted in orange and cream. There were also some regional coaches with additional centre entry doors but they were not so common. Both types have been made by Roco in HO. This photo shows a couple of Schlieren' coaches being shunted at Bishofshofen 1995. The red and white 'City Shuttle' coaches came along later and were of a different design and included a driving trailer for push pull operation. Roco have also made these in HO
  17. I wish I could as I love the paint scheme. I have seen models but they very rare.
  18. Added a couple of corn syrup unloading hoses at the food processor. The hoses re made from thick solder and painted dark grey.
  19. R&N MP15dc #1540 switching the cement terminal.
  20. I've also started weathering RBMN U23B #2395 beginning with the trucks and fuel tank. I like to take things slowly with weathering nowadays, doing a little at a time, then taking a photo on the layout to see how it looks. With this particular loco, I think I'll retain a clean look as I really like the Conrail Express paint scheme.
  21. With the layout more or less finished, I've turned my attention to weathering my small fleet of cement cars.
  22. An overall view of the layout which is almost finished. Just some small details to add.
  23. Quite a lot of progress on the layout in the past week. Seamoss trees added and more 2mm static grass, Noch grass mat and Busch grass tufts. A yard office is in place and a road bridge hides the entrance to the staging track.
  24. It will be a fault in the photo scan which I did years ago. I had a few like that but hadn't noticed this particular one.
  25. Great photos and reminded me of my trip to Niagara Falls in 1994. I only managed one railroad photo but at least it has an interesting lash up of of units ( Alcos ? ) and some interesting automobiles.
