Fabulous work on the roof

Great stuff Robin, Barrow Road really is starting to come together.
We've had two wet days here so I am out of the garden and have been building more 16T minerals.

Looks very good Robin. I'm amazed that the prototype didn't get a lot grubbier but I guess it was still fairly new when the photo was taken.
-
On Worseter I used a mix of sieved ash from our open fire and soot from the chimney.

Very nice Robin, must be nearly time to do some ballasting/surfacing! Is that a dodgy bit of alignment coming up to the inspection pit or is it just a cruel camera angle? Now ducking for cover.
Stay safe,
John

... and if we are going to be really pedantic , the 'stench' pipe, or soil and vent pipe to give it its proper name, would be a larger diameter than the rwp's, the former normally being 4" diam in old money and the latter 3". Great modeling none the less. Keep up the good work.

Very nice Robin but why aren't you displaying it in the correct location!

Post 1960 after Bath Road stopped doing steam some GW locos were allocated to Barrow Road. Later the remaining ones from St Philips Marsh went there.
I was referring to the models not the prototype!

Thanks for posting the pics Robin, brings back memories of the 50's and 60's. I assume the visiting WR locos came up from South Wales!

John - Glad to hear you're back in one piece - you didn't fall off the bike then?
Only once but it was pretty spectacular. No broken bones but a few cuts and bruises. All part of the fun!

Don't remember that many clean Jubilees on Barrow Road! Good to see the loco allocation expanding.

I used to use sprung push buttons to operate the electromagnets and never had any problems. The electromagnets had a dedicated power source.

Does that mean the roof is nearly finished Robin, in which case you have been a busy lad.
-
Very smooth Robin.
-
Well done Robin, good to see it going cleanly through the slip now.

I think that would be a very good idea Dave. And I thought I was nuts! Fabulous.

The flange goes on top of the bracket. This pic is actually on a Prairie. The Manor is similar except that the flange is flush with the face of the bracket.

Looking good Robin. Shame about last night's result!

What kit?

Get well soon Dave. Time to do a bit of research for the next project?

Very realistic Robin. You have been a busy chap with that and the work on the bridge.
