  1. Thank you for taking the trouble to explain the set-up with the Kadees. Geoff.
  2. Peter thank you so much for the info on the figures, I will be seeking out the seated ones. I had noticed that you use Kadees on the front of DMUs whereas I like to have the full bufferbeam detailing, and then I thought that operationally it makes more sense to have the Kadees and compromise on the aesthetic. I still dont know wether to fit them then I saw in one of your shots a 101 with full front detail and noticed it was a 3-car, do you only fit Kadees to 2-car sets for multiple working? Regards, Geoff
  3. Peter, as a silent (up until now) watcher of your thread I have always enjoyed the photos of your railway and I continually check to see if more have been posted. When I saw photo 3 in post 2801 I at first assumed you had photoshopped the seated passenger/spotter into the scene, he looks so real is he a Preiser figure? The weathering on the 25 in the same picture is superb, I can almost smell it! This is just to let you know that your postings are very much appreciated and that there most be many more out there who just cant get enough BR Blue. Regards, Geoff.
  4. Hello Al, Replica Railways supply Mk1 coach parts including interiors for TSO as well as other types at bargain prices, their transfers are also excellent. http://www.replicarailways.co.uk/spares-and-accessories/spares However, I can see from your projects that you like to scratch build just about everything, I just thought I would mention them. Your railway is superb and the fact you scratch build gives a realistic organic feel to everything. Geoff
  5. Blimey you`ve taken me right back now, I can smell the Airfix gold paint for my Airfix Beefeater kit (two shillings from Woolworths)! Those jars were a bit impractical though as they were tall and caused you to get paint all up your brush, and the tops were hard to unscrew. Back on topic I find that no matter how much I stir a new tin of Humbrol Matt Black it still dries semi-gloss, but the next time I use it it`s nice and flat!??? Geoff.
  6. Yes, me too, just discovered this stunning atmospheric model, the buildings and structures in particular are spot on and I love the bodge-it approach to modelmaking with great results, are you an architectural modelmaker by profession by any chance? Your representation of panel rippling on the Class 26 bodyside is something I have been striving to achieve for many years, the slab side of a Class 47 in particular needs that rippling, please let us know how you did it. Keep up this thread, it`s an inspiration! Geoff.
  7. BRILLIANT!!!!! An all time favourite and I never did know the words but what a voice that Doris Day had. Me and my wife have been singing it all morning! To keep things on topic, I have to say I really love "winterbournecm"s railway it really captures Cornish railway atmosphere well, plus I never tire of good old BR Blue. Geoff.
  8. Hello Peter, Further to your question about the decoder in the Hornby Class 101, I have found that with my Hornby motored ex Lima models (Class 59, Class 101, Class 121) it is those pesky Feedback Parameters that need tweaking to obtain a smooth response from the motor. CV 53 was lowered slightly to a value of 50, CV 54 to 20, and CV 55 was bumped right up to a value of 55 to emulate a large flywheel. These numbers could obviously be improved upon with a little trial and error as not all motors will respond the same. By the way, I love your railway, I have just been selling off all my current era models to go back to my beloved BR Blue period, just waiting for Hornbys much delayed blue and yellow HST pack! Geoff.
