  1. i can remember reading the article about this in model rail and thinking I'd like to make a depot like this one day, I used to like the look of another depot model I still have the article about called pretops, which along with this is a good model and very inspirational. I especially like the scratchbuilt locos
  2. that looks excellent. are these likely to be made available?
  3. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple of these to build so I too would be interested in seeing how this went
  4. yeah they are they just don't look very well moulded no crispness to them
  5. out of interest does any one produce the bogie side frames for the early ac loco's? I have bought some whitemetal ones from a seller on ebay but I dont like the look of them
  6. Here is my unfinished silver fox/Hornby/Heljan kestrel in blue with small yellow panels, I need to pick out the window frames in silver, apply transfers handrails glazing etc but I think it looks quite good on it so far. Apologies for poor picture though
  7. I started painting my silver fox kestrel in br blue with small yellow panels never got round to finishing it tho
  8. I like the super deltic been looking at the spares in my scrap box and reckon I've enough bits to have a crack at one myself
  9. I bought the same book after reading this thread and I'm having a bash at the baby deltic based dp3, seeing as I've a few ruined Hornby class 37 from my ill fated thread!!! If I can get it to look half as decent as your super deltic I'll put up a picture
  10. that looks really good! are you going to reuse the 86 bogies or will you be scratchbuilding some?
  11. everytime I get my loco out and do abit I look on this thread and it makes me try that bit harder to get mine as good as I can, and I must admit to copying all of your ideas, really really good model
  12. all I can say is wow and that I muct get on with mine
  13. just out of interest what gauge wire are you using for the grills?
  14. The windows look great when i did mine i cut a groove in the bonnet top so I could slide the windows in, but I didnt think they looked right, as it is ive scrapped that body and I've started a fresh and I think I'll try your method of fitting them.
  15. just out of interest how have you made the radiator and the bracing? reason i'm asking is i'm making a late 60's model and on the full size loco's through the radiator mesh you can see the bracing and seen as I have a shawplan grill cover i'm thinking about recreating this.
  16. These are looking good mate and going better than my effort which has stalled untill the post man brings my resin nose ends from shawplan(the last pair), and then it's full throttle again, and if it's any use to anyone else brian is considering getting some more cast so if enough people ask he'll hopefully get some done soon.
