  1. I'd have liked to have seen the triple headed iron ore trains that ran in south wales
  2. Hi Tony , if the A1 is off in the bin could I buy the boiler from you? Or are you as I assume, just pulling our legs and will transform this into another fantastic model?
  3. i didn't mean your post, i meant the fact that for some reason the website software has put my text on the right hand side of the box for some reason
  4. I also cannot understand where the elitism tag has come from! I for one enjoy this thread very much and it would be a shame for the op to cease posting. Another of my favourite posters on here the penguin of doom also quit his thread due to some bizarre behaviour of forum members, i hope this doesn't become an ongoing trend as i believe the forum would suffer from the actions of some keyboard warriors who only seem to want to pull people apart.
  5. don't know why but I've never really like the class 42/3 warships yet I like the d600's nice photo's nonetheless
  6. That photo of the dmu in the first edge hill photo is amazingly grim, quite like it though
  7. very nice a few years ago me and a few mates rented this house as it was ideal no next door neighbours and plenty of space to party! was bloody cold in winter mind you every room had three outside walls and single glazing, it had been altered quite abit though with an extension built on to the old platform which replaced the middle section of the building which has the bay windows
  8. The second photo looking down the layout is amazing
  9. Well i shall be looking forward to obtaining the forthcoming books errors or not as even though I wasn't born untill 1979 the era your books will cover are for me the most fascinating of era's, even if i do have a soft spot for the GC in the mid to late '50s
  10. Glad there is more to come, I noticed the duplication but only the most picky person would let that detract from an excellent book.
  11. Just bought myself a copy of your into the blue book, as a Christmas present to myself and i must say it is very good value for £9.99 hopefully there will be more to come?
  12. This is one incredible layout and it keeps me thinking about finishing a comet chass for the airfix br mogul but thevalve gear looks all the more frightening every time i get the kit back out, the reason it gets me thinking is i have a massive weakness for the great central around the period you model and now i have more books to gaze over, dreaming up a layout based on the line the temptation is growing much stronger.
  13. That shunter looks amazing I really must buy one of your kits as I've been drooling for a while
  14. If anyone who has motorised their model would they be interested in selling the bogies side frames as the only model I have been able to buy had been opened and one side frame is now missing
  15. Apologies for the confusion, I meant steam engines, but there is a long way to go with my modelling before I could/would contemplate such a task, but the spirit of getting stuck in and have a go is very much in my mindset.
  16. I know this is a bit off topic but in regards to building locos I've been collecting silver fox diesel models to detail/build even though there are much better detailed rtr out there simply enjoy messing around detailing them and I have a few steam loco kits which I have a go at every now and again. It is to me a very relaxing yet frustrating way to spend my spare time. So maybe sometime I'll try my hand at scratch building as it does look like a very good challenge
  17. I've always liked these locos even though I mainly like the early br diesels. I've never seen one in the flesh but they look very impressive
  18. with the like of the baby deltic cut and shut project and the lms 10000 one surely it wouldn't be to hard to modify a production power car to look like the prototype and then paint up some mk3's
  19. such a shame that it wasn't the success BR hoped it would be, because even just on appearance it was a very smart looking train much nicer than the Pendolino in my opinion
