  1. Rex's son Noel followed in father's footsteps when he narrated Windmills of Your Mind, which is still a great song.
  2. To be fair to the godlike genius that is William Shatner, he doesn't actually attempt to sing; he knows his limits, thus recites the lyrics in time with the music. He's clearly a pioneer of rap music, and a man way ahead of his time.
  3. He could have called it Probing Uranus.
  4. Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!
  5. That German soldier went on to invent the electric pencil sharpener.
  6. So, where will Mr Newey go next? Do you think every F1 team (apart from Red Bull and VisaCashCrapRBwhateverthingy) are now playing a game of 'throw the cash at the designer'?
  7. Interesting. I understood there was a (possibly unofficial) moratorium on breaking news in F1 on 1st May each year, given the Senna anniversary, but perhaps this news is just too big to wait until tomorrow.
  8. Apparently Sauber/Audi (Saudi? Auber?) are still very keen to lock Carlos Sainz in to the other seat from next year. Would he risk potentially wasting his best years waiting for Audi to get fully on the pace, or is he more likely to hold out for a Mercedes seat on the basis that they have less far to go to return to the top?
  9. I found it interesting that, according to the BBC report, it's not the Horner situation per se that's causing Newey to look elsewhere; rather, it's the toxic environment within the team that has resulted from the investigation. Sounds to me like a lot of team personnel have picked sides and are then at loggerheads, which is upsetting the tranquil environment Adrian prefers to work in. Mind you, if he wants to move because the internal politics are not to his liking, heading to Ferrari is probably the worst choice!
  10. The one upside of Liberty Media buying MotoGP is that it may divert their attentions away from their current aim of destroying F1.
  11. First race I’ve properly enjoyed since Singapore last year!
  12. can anyone name the three inquisitors without googling?
  13. Makes perfect sense. On a personal level it’s obviously disappointing for Sargeant, but last year Logan scored one point, while Alex bagged 27 - if you can only run one of them, it’s a no-brainer. In other news, qualifying was a bit more interesting this time around.
  14. Pretty much the only thing I like about ben Sulayem’s presidency is his willingness to fight Liberty Media, who are destroying the sport I used to love. That aside, I agree with Lewis.
  15. Interestingly, Massa appears to be suing for compensation for a ‘lost’ title, rather than having the championship result overturned years later. Proving that he would have won the championship had the facts been known at the time will be quite difficult though, as who is to say that he, Hamilton, and every other driver would have driven in the same manner under different circumstances.
  16. Bearman’s already being linked with Haas for next year, or possibly even this season.
  17. I must say how much I enjoyed the WEC race in Qatar last weekend. I’ve always loved endurance racing, but I think it’s just entered a golden era the likes of which we’ve not seen since the glory days of Group C. Speaking of which, over on dukevideo.com they have a couple of new t-shirts I like the look of: Silk Cut Jaguar and Rothmans Porsche. They’re on my birthday gift list.
  18. One magazine added to my shopping list for this month.
  19. I used to think the Cresta Run was popping to the offy to get some fizzy drinks. It’s frothy, man.
  20. As in “a man’s Gottardo what a man’s Gottardo”?
  21. Does that also mean the lander is now balls deep in Selene?
  22. There’s always the Graham’s Golden Lager tank, in a pinch.
