  1. What cheese doesn’t belong to you? Nacho cheese.
  2. What cheese can tempt a Grizzly out of a cave? Camembert.
  3. I saw my doctor the other day, and said to him “I’m having real difficulty losing weight. Can you suggest anything?” He replied “Don’t eat anything fatty.” ”What, like chips, pies, that sort of thing?” I queried. ”No,” he said, “don’t eat anything, fatty!”
  4. What do you get if you cross a sheep with a kangaroo? A woolly jumper.
  5. Ah, the incomparable Joni. I came to her music through hearing Big Yellow Taxi on the radio, and have adored her ever since. The Circle Game is one of her very best, although my personal favourite is Chelsea Morning - no matter what mood I’m in, be it happy, sad, or any point in between, that song is guaranteed to lift me.
  6. Clearly the system they use, whatever it is, has some flaws. I mean, how long have people been waiting for a second run of Trouts, as an example?
  7. Fatty and Skinny were in the bath, Fatty blew off and Skinny did laugh.
  8. Is it intentional that they misspelled the name of one of the ships? HMS “Banger” seems entirely appropriate in the circumstances!
  9. I don’t mind this first round of announcements being a little light. Locomotion No.1 is something I’ve wanted for a long time, so I’ve ordered one very promptly indeed. Apart from that, not a lot for me, but I’ve also ordered an LNER Trout (thanks Hornby, missed that first time around), and will probably pick up the L&MR coaches and wagons as and when they appear. I’ll await their next announcements with interest.
  10. Such as: What do you call a man with a seagull on his head? Cliff!
  11. Been thoroughly debunked - Skeptoid.com has done a piece on it, and is well worth a read.
  12. Reminds me of the story about Sir Jack Brabham. When he was branching out from being ‘only’ a driver by setting up his own racing car factory and team, he thought it was a bit self-aggrandising to call it by his name, so chose Motor Racing Developments. However, it was pointed out that in French (then the language of Grand Prix racing) MRD sounded very unfortunate. The cars raced as Brabhams.
  13. It’s alright for you lot, but I’ve just found out I’m elderly!
  14. Some sad news, Indy 500 winner Gil de Ferran has died aged 56, following a heart attack.
  15. Mr Horner’s award seems to have been overlooked by the mainstream media. Nothing on the BBC website, although they did have the sad news that Indy 500 winner and former McLaren sporting director Gil de Ferran has died at 56 following a heart attack.
  16. Brilliant - I nearly spat me tea over the cat!
  17. A Grand Prix in Africa has been discussed a lot in recent years, as that’s the only continent (Antarctica aside) that F1 does not currently visit.
