  1. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
  2. I don't fit into any of those categories - I run everything I buy, I am aware of the L&B but not knowledgable about it, and I've only a very passing interest in narrow gauge, yet I am strangely excited by the prospect of RTR L&B. Perhaps I'm the exception that proveth the rule. As you say, time will tell.
  3. Excellent. I looked only last night and couldn't see it.
  4. I like the idea of RTR 009, as I will never have the time to build narrow gauge kits in addition to all my other modelling interests. Depending on price, I will be getting a loco or two.
  5. Going back a few years, I bought a Bachmann Royal Scot from them via mail order, which they renamed and renumbered, and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was most helpful when discussing whether my choice of name (The King's Royal Rifle Corps) was one of the available options. The subsequent model was very nicely done, too. I haven't used them since, but only because I tend to use more local (to me) shops.
  6. Plenty suitable for the late 1970s, which is good for me.
  7. Fabulous song! I downloaded it a couple of years ago, and listen to it if I need a smile put on my face. Original, re-mastered or re-recorded version?
  8. There's a model of Welwyn Garden City being planned on this forum too, if you want to slot that in!
  9. Ta for that. Hopefully they'll replicate in 1/43 too, for my burgeoning collection of Lotuseseses, both road and racing.
  10. Mine too, as I drive the real thing. I'm quite excited to see the Mk1 Fiesta and Mini 1275GT, they'll both be suitable for my proposed late 1970s layout, as could the Lotus Elite, depending on which Elite they're modelling.
  11. As an LNER enthusiast, with a particular interest in the East Coast Main Line in the 1930s, I'm tremendously excited by the P2. I know it only made occasional appearances running out of King's Cross, but it'll add variety to the passenger trains I plan to run - when I get round to actually building a layout...
  12. Ooh, yes please. Mine too, and although my knowledge is quite limited, my enthusiasm is strong!
  13. I haven't found the book I was referring to, but I'm pretty certain it was British Railways Past & Present volume 12, East Anglia. My copy is buried somewhere in the loft...
  14. Can't remember which book, but I have one with a photo of an Ocean coal wagon, from deepest Wales, marshalled into a train in East Anglia. Definitely pre-nationalisation, possibly even pre-grouping. If I can find the book, I'll give more detail, but I think it likely that at least some PO wagons roamed far and wide in the 1930s.
  15. I find the question of whether to weather a difficult one to answer. I've not weathered any of my stock yet, as I have nowhere to run them, but when the time comes I would be loathe to weather any of Sir Nigel's finest! Accurate though it may be to make them look at least used, if not dirty, I don't know if I can bring myself to mess up the lovely greens, blues and teak.
  16. What an impressive piece of work, and good to see something set in my favourite era, LNER 1930s. I'll be following this with great interest.
