  1. Breaking news of coded Irish dissident bomb alert in Central London... just what we need.

  2. is still recovering from passing "City of Truro" last night which was sitting on a low loader at Clackett Lane services on the M25.

  3. is very impressed by the Taunton Cider cargowaggon that arrived from OnTracks this morning.

  4. Missed the bus. So I went for the train. Train was delayed and if I'd known I could have got the next bus. Train "delayed due to overcrowding" - Brighton marathon. Got to Clapham Jct, utter chaos, for train to Streatham Hill which didn't show up on Nat Rail Enquiries website. Got out of station to see empty bus go past, then had to wait for another one which was of course full. Is now glad to be home!

  5. has just ordered the Taunton Cider cargowaggon advertised in MR - less than 10 available on a limited run. Now all I have to do is figure out quite how I'm going to incorporate it into a layout...

Is that the Rivarrossi one? and am i right in thinking they only painted one wagon in that livery?

  6. is wondering how to use my laptop now it's stuck on the setup screen, given that the internal keyboard has packed up, and it won't recognise the external one until it's booted up.

  7. spent an hour last night creating a field for a diorama. Was nice to actually model something...

  8. Just been charged 10p for a platform ticket at Streatham Hill. The ticket office guy didn't even know you could still get them.

One of the very few things which hasn't gone up in price. 10p for a platform ticket dates from 1988

Your enthusiasm generates HTTP errors ? I have to write programs for that !

  10. A speaker at a children's Harvest Festival asked the children to name some of the things they could see on display. "Carrots" shouted one. "Peas" said another. "Cabbages" replied a third. "Now, can anyone tell me a word that covers all these things," asked the Vicar. "Gravy" came a yell from the back of the Church.

Just seen it again and yep that's the beast. Nice to see a proper train instead of plastic units.

  12. has looked through the Hornby 2011 list again and still can't really find anything I want...

  13. has come to the conclusion that the O gauge project will have to go on hold until I have more room - I'd rather dig my OO out again than have no layout...

  14. has just got home from PC World with a nice new AOC 24" widescreen monitor... had to move all the desk around to fit it in!

  15. Most of our legitimate work email get stuck in the spam filter too richard, although spam still seems to get through? it almost works backwards!
