Is that the EMU which ran into the herd of cattle in Kent the other day?

Gronk, 15, Clayton, Crompton, Prototype HST, Duffs and the bonus: hymeks.

      Didn't even come close.

Yeah! I often use hydraulic class designations too! Never won anything, maybe soon?

  3. Using a Black & Decker power drill... with a 0.5mm drill bit in it. How, you may ask... carefully, very carefully indeed.

  4. Thanks UKMail for delivering my parcel to the right numbered house, just in the wrong street... well done also for missing the pond (of the wrong garden) by 6 inches when you lobbed it over the fence.

Did some agency work for them a couple of years back and was shocked by there handling methods as they load and unload there vans, all I can say is don't send anything fragile with them

Have you told them what happened, and if so, did they care?

  7. So I 'accidently' bought a Busch Feldbahn start set... so that's HO-f (Z scale track), N, OO-9, OO and O I model in...

  9. Tonight's kebab was a bad move. 45 minutes after and I've already had to open the windows. P#arp.

  10. Handle gives out on saucepan, potatoes and boiling water all over the floor, great. Guess that's dinner knackered...

Or just the saucepan is kaput?

    3. cromptonnut

Yeah the handle snapped as I was transferring it from the cooker to the sink to drain, and the whole lot ended up on the floor. Not repairable either so I guess I have to buy a new big saucepan.

  13. painting the Throne Room for Jubilee weekend. Pity I couldn't persuade SWMBO to do it in chocolate and cream...

The walls are going to be "Periwinkle". I suppose I can squint and imagine it's a Northern Rail 156...

  14. If anyone is interested in engineering trains or minor derailments apparently you can see both in the same place causing a bit of chaos at East Croydon this morning. My boss said it was a 'rail grinder' but I don't have confirmation of that.

One of ours I'm afraid, can't say any more at this time .....

  15. has managed to fix a regularly crashing computer by taking the lid off - it was not Windows playing up but an overheating problem under load triggering a system restart to protect the CPU. Saved £400 ...

    1. Debs.

      Debs.

Mine does that too: I blow the entire MOBO and case clear of dust/dog-hairs, using compressed air and then lube the motor-shafts on CPU and GPU fans with a bit of "maintenance oil"

  16. Oh no, another cheesy and entirely inappropriate Peco commemorative wagon http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/product/37935/RW3_Peco_Diamond_Jubilee_Commemorative_CDA_Clay_Hopper_Wagon

You could form a lovely rake with the Royal Wedding wagons they've done over the years...

    3. 69843

      69843

I have a copy of the July 1981 Railway Modeller, which has the remark that in 25 years, the Royal wedding wagon was their first non prototypical wagon. Guess that they'll need to expand that list a bit more now....!

  17. A flash of inspiration... design the baseboards to suit the track plan - not mess with the track plan to suit the baseboards. Genius... although seemingly known by most of RMWeb... why didn't I pick it up before?

  18. Apa box goes back in cupboard, can't do what I wanted in the space, so it's now a 4ft x 21" board with two 3ft x 1ft fiddle yards that will go on each end in due course. Just need to dig some space out now to put the board up on its trestles.

  19. Enjoying reading the Dapol 2012 catalogue, I can see it's going to be an expensive year. I'd never have thought there would be so many new things coming out at once!

proper type 3's ah mate :)

  21. Hmmm do I build a layout in one APA box, two APA boxes, or just revert to standard baseboards? At the moment the storage yards are both longer than the scenic section!

  22. Oh dilemma... Is "O gauge 08 shunting plank" the new GWR BLT? Will exhibitions be full of them in a year's time meaning I'm better off concentrating on the N gauge project first...?

    1. Coombe Barton

      Coombe Barton

  24. Is it just me or is there something strange about this new colourscheme? My profile dropdown I can only change status, everything else has disappeared.

  25. is about to start an inventory of his N gague stock, having unearthed the box from under a pile of stuff yesterday, in anticipation of the APA Box Project. Once I've catalogued it I can then look at what I can shift to fund what I need.
