Met my first RMWEBber whilst at work today.

Must remember "less is more" as I redraw my track plan for the umpteenth time. It doesn't need to be overcrowded as it won't look realistic. But if I can just fit in one more siding...
-
I've just watched "The Last Passenger". Ok film but why was an electric slam door unit masquerading as a 3 car diesel unit, which also had a buffet/bar in one scene. Sometimes being knowledgeable is a disadvantage.

I go away for two days and you guys leave me 150+ notifications to trawl through. Good grief, I'd hate to be offline for a week.
-
Back to the drawing board... wondered if this paint was safe to use around polystyrene, as I watch the test piece slowly melting...

Planning a trip to a wedding. Getting the last train (at 5.30pm) that can get us home at midnight - nothing via any other route that I can find except the one National Rail suggests. Literally no other trains I can get from anywhere on that one's route to get me back to London. Too risky?

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to ExpoNG I go ...
-
is now the proud owner of a Kernow NSE Thumper, which is sitting burbling away on the table behind me. Better build a layout for it to run on I guess.

Someone was asking about a FGW 57 not long ago, can't remember who but if it was you, Hattons have one in stock http://www.ehattons.com/152044/Bachmann_Branchline_32_752_U_02_Class_57_6_Co_Co_diesel_57602_in_First_Great_Western_livery_Pre_owned_imperfec/StockDetail.aspx

Sleep well my furry friend, farewell to one of our hamsters who crossed the rainbow bridge some time today.
-
Well.. I got the job. As of monday morning, I have a job on the railways.
-
If all goes to plan it's a trip to Worcester behind Mayflower tomorrow morning.
-
Waiting for an Amazon delivery so I can finally play Elite: Dangerous properly ... trying to use the mouse is a disaster waiting to happen (and it has several times - who put that meteorite there?)
-
We're off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow - got the steam railway, Upstairs Downstairs, model railway exhibition and model village covered, anything else essential? She's not too impressed that she spent 5 minutes trying to find information about the Isle of Wight Sausage Museum though...
-
I knew offering to help my local model shop with an advert for ModelRail was a mistake. I'm now making them an advert for Hornby magazine...
-
I appear to have been responsible for my local B&Q revising their wood cutting policy to no longer cut anything smaller than 21" x 9". Oops. Annoying though, how else are you supposed to cut baseboard endplates?
-
A birthday with no railway related presents. Glad I treated myself last week at Hattons

Threading Peco IL-120 on to Peco IL-1 ...15 down, 165 to go (and that's just 8ft of double track... what about the rest of the layout???)

Wired up to a blood pressure monitor all day, keep catching the tube on the door handle. Been 2 hours and fed up with it already.

Happy wife, 1603 1614 and 1625 ex London Bridge trains home are cancelled...
-
She ended up on the 1642 Brighton and got off at Gatwick, to come back up again as it's an acceptable "alternative route" apparently. The 1659 was also affected, only going to Horsham and not splitting at Redhill for half to go to Tonbridge as well. Not a good afternoon really, apparently there were issues at Victoria then a trespasser at Balham (gateway to the South) about 7pm.

Third needle lucky on the blood test. Mission accomplished but my arms hurt. Interferes with my modelling.
-
So my Tim Horn boards are all assembled ... but what do I do about legs for them? Being only 10 inches wide it doesnt give a lot of capacity.
-
how about some of these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10118971/
-
Having fun with my first proper set of Tim Horn boards... two built, three left.

Interesting scam from the Royal Mail on something I ordered from the US on Ebay where they want to charge me
-
Awesome. My package, which I've been waiting for to be delivered from the US, was apparently delivered at 7.11am this morning. Even if that's taking into account the timezones, I certainly haven't received a parcel. Harumph.
