  1. I did a review of this model recently. It is such a lovely livery and runs well. For me this model has been the highlight of the Bachmann releases so far this year.
  2. I chose unskirted specifically because I thought the motion and wheels were too well detailed to have covered up.
  3. The all new limited edition MDV wagon from Accurascale exclusively for the Monday Club. Orders are being fulfilled by Rails of Sheffield so order with confidence. Model expected later thus year at the same time as the rest of the Accurascale MDO/MDV wagons. The wagon features a prototypically correct livery based on photographs. To this discrete ‘Empty to Wear Yard’ stencil branding has been applied, plus the ‘JK’ logo on one side in the style of a graffiti spray tag. The running number is unique to this release. https://railsofsheffield.com/products/43612/accurascale-jenny_mdv-oo-gauge-jenny-monday-club-exclusive-br-bauxite-mdv-coal-wagon-b312963
  4. I pulled the little tank out with a pair of needle nose pliers. It looks like it is just glued in place.
  5. Arcadia Models in Shaw have good stocks of flexitrack and most points.
  6. With the all new Heljan class 25s due very soon, I was lucky enough to be able to sit down and interview Ben Jones about them as well as some of their other forthcoming models.
  7. My full video on this item:
  8. It is in a light pea green, pretty much the same as the Oxford Adams Radial.
  9. I use the micro wired 6 pin Train-o-matic decoder in mine. A very tight fit but will go in. The direct plug 6 pin decoders are just slightly too long to fit. For the record, I never recommend Lais as they have a history of stealing other companies’ IP.
  10. Two views from Mynydd Tatws which is my Welsh themed OO9 layout built during lockdown and filmed for a series on Youtube. Same location with and without loco.
  11. At the price these are going at I couldn't resist getting one of the sound fitted examples. It’s almost like getting a free loco with every sound decoder. really pleased with it. Edit: the source I got mine from, Rails, have sold out.
  12. In the review video I posted my six wheel coach was subjected to extensive running on curves, over pointwork and over 5% gradients and twisted track. It performed without issue. It has subsequently been seen running on my two hour weekly livestream, again with no issue.
  13. I sat down in conversation with Hornby’s Simon Kohler to discuss all things Hornby and also find out a little more about the man seen as the public face of Hornby:
  14. I have been given permission to share one of the images Hornby were working from with regard to the buffers: Courtesy of the Mike King Collection. Hornby raised my pointing out of the concave buffers in my review and sought to clarify the reason they are so on the model. I am just passing this on.
  15. Hornby have clarified the concave appearance of the buffers. They noted this feature on prototype coaches in period photographs and decided to replicate this in light of the photographic evidence. I’ve seen one of the pictures (a LBSCR coach) and they are definitely concave though as I don’t know who owns the copyright in the picture I cannot share it here.
  16. Personally I think the N2 would be an excellent choice for retooling with a premium HD version. The existing model is in need of a retool anyway and there is no other model rtr on the market. 69567 and 69550 (3rail and 2rail identities) would give two respectable HD versions plus all the LNER and other big four variants HD released.
  17. I make it 42mm from axle centre to axle centre on my example. The lighting is particularly good. I like the magnet actuation and the choice of the CR2032 battery should give reliability and longevity.
  18. This is the best I can quickly do for length of the six wheelers. my video review will be coming on Wednesday.
  19. “In a world where froth flows abundant, only one manufacturer can stand tall and deliver the trains......”
  20. I built a scissors crossing. It wasn’t easy so I have the utmost respect of the builder of those far more complex examples! Mine is visible in this picture. Just a basic model with four carefully trimmed Peco points and a short crossing. All four point motors are slaved to fire together.
  21. I did ask Rails about this and they said: “ We had a small allocation of pecketts on a back order from another supplier (not Hornby). ” So I suspect these have come via a wholesaler of Hornby products.
  22. I’ve just bought one of these (missed out on the deal by a couple of days - bah humbug!) Amazing weight and really lovely model. Easy to DCC fit though the windows in mine were loose but easy to glue back in. The short wheelbase does find track dirt rather well though. Otherwise I am very pleased with this unusual model.
  23. Further to the pictures I posted, here is the full video I produced looking at the model. Includes DCC fitting and running footage.
  24. Dapol sent this one to me for review. I enquired what would be happening to it as a club exclusive and was told that it will be being sold as a Dapol exclusive. I am presuming this means that they will turn up on their website at some point.
