  1. Hello Bryn, we was discussing this at Guildex on Saturday, seeing as Dapol has a 63’ chassis on the market now, and it is soon to be joined by Heljan as well.

I did mute the 153 would be a good start, if you like kit building, Peter Clark Models does do some of the 2nd gen range in his kits.

i would imagine it may only be a matter of time before a RTR model is announced.

    Best regards

PS sorry we missed you at the Stafford GOG show today !! It was said you was seen leaving there with 2 x Dapol 08’s, a selection of O gauge wagons, 3 x o gauge Peco points, and a box of 12 yards of code 124 bullhead flexi track !!!

something Ian Futers in the pipeline ?

  3. Great idea to move that dairy Andy, gives back more perception of space.

You can load milk from a road tanker to the rail tankers via the goods shed, Torrington had this set up first time round.

There was a pumping station in the goods shed, used to transfer from the road tankers, to milk tankers, the milk was pumped into the rail tankers at low level, there was also an overhead wash pipe facility, for cleaning down the milk tankers.

At Torrington only 3 x milk tankers at a time could be loaded, so that gives you more scope for Tanker shoving.

I will probably be tempted but will have to resist. As all my layouts are exhibition layouts I can't do with the hassle of large layouts anymore!

Yes, I never some up your neck of the woods anymore but if your ever in the Bodelwyddan area pop to our depot as I stay in most of the time now.

Okay Nick, will do, but I was thinking more away from work, and chatting about trains 😉

    best regards

Class 121 bits have arrived so have renumbered mine today (Railtec) and working on the destination boxes. The top and bottom strips are slightly chamfered so I can slide in alternative names.

Some Heljan class 50 wipers are much finer than Dapols although rather get lost against the thick edges of the glazing.

Ooh I like the Heljan class 50 wipers idea 👌

The still playing, I thought that a Road Bridge across the cutting might work and give me more fields.

  7. Hello Mr P, just been catching up 😂, had the Nurse not dispensed your medication before you made that video ?

Great stuff as usual Andy, nice to see the amusing warts and all, it does prove you are human 😇, like the rest of us.

I’ve just bought the GWR 150 Chocolate and Cream 121.  I have a transfer sheet for Head codes, but no destination blind transfers, has anybody else purchased this version and if so, what transfers were in the box please?

    Many Thanks

    Ashley

Hello Ashley, I have the GWR version, and the blue grey version, mine only came with headcodes decals, which are pointless as the headcodes are blanked off.

My blue version, came with both headcodes decals and destination blind decals, which is okay, but the destination blinds are pretty much useless, as they are too big for the centre window !!

I have bought some of the Dapol 122’s, and I aim to use some of the correctly spelt destination blinds from them on my 121’s.

I have to say, the blinds have been a bit of a c*ck up really, but hey ho in the grand scheme of things of what is going on in this crazy world right now, I can get by with them.

    Best regards
