I can't quite follow how that would work.

Does this mean that if the seller declines your best offer then Paypal need to issue a refund?

PayPal puts it as a stand by charge on the account, so if the seller refuses, you don’t actually get charged

  2. Hello, I have noticed on eBay now, whenever I make a best offer, I have to go into PayPal and prepay for the item, which is a bit of a faff.

Also it is a bummer on multiple offers to the same buyer, as it will charge postage on each individual item.

So for example, I make an offer of 6 x sets of points, and each point has been listed individually with a £2.50 postage charge, then prepay is charging me £2.50 for each item accepted.

So I am then in trust to the seller for refunding me some of the £18 postage eBay would charge me.

Anyone else having this issue ?

    Best regards

     Craig

  3. Hello, may be this question has been asked before no doubt, but here goes.

Has it been muted yet by Peco a date for the arrival of the double slip in this bullhead range ?

I did look at kit built offerings by C&L, but the price took me a bit by surprise :O, and I am only after a double slip now for my project.

    Thanks in advance

  4. Hello, are you able to take out the motor / gearbox and run them separately from the chassis, to see how it performs running on its own ?

what type of loco is it ? Are the wheels or connecting rods free running, with no gearbox or motor attached to the drive ?

Good luck with finding the issue

  5. Hello Gerry, well if anyone was in doubt about fitting a lovely roundy roundy O gauge layout into a modest loft space , there is the wonderful proof it can be done :paint:.

In my humble opinion, I think this should have a piece in one of the Modelling Mags, I reckon it will be an inspiration for many, who wrongly think they are space starved.

Well done, it’s lovely, you have done a great job on it, well thought out.

Do you have a track plan please ?

  6. Sorry to hear of your garage woes Woody, but nice to see a Phoenix rises from the flames so to speak.

You definitely can’t beat some Bogcart traction action :dancer:.

I really like the flow of the track work, looks good considering it’s in a space width of 2’, which soon gets consumed in 7mm.

Hello @Andrew P hope you are well ..... it has been noticed by other Member's of the Ex-Welsh meet up Group, that you are loitering around a lot in the 7mm section these days !!! Is one from 'Ampshur thinking of going O gauge soon ????? :D

  8. Hello Rod, hope you are well ? good to see those trailing point bases have arrived :locomotive:.

I take it there will be a rail replacement bus service provided for the People of WKT ? Please make sure you liaise with whichever Bus Company is tendered to provide the service, Stagecoach didn't fair too well the last time they did it on the Wirral !!! :o ..... best regards Craig.

  9. Hello, the only daft question is the one we don't ask, when we need to know something ;).

If you do go 7mm scale, and intend to scratch build some structures, I would highly recommend investing in an Expo 7mm scale steel rule for checking measurements before committing to cutting.

Yes we can measure and convert and write things down, but sometimes the old brain fog, or grey cells maybe on slow operating speed, so always handy to have one of these, measure a thousand times, cut once !

    Best regards

I finally figured this needed its own thread rather than clogging up my Workbench thread which isn't getting any workbench items on it at the moment, oh well.

When we moved house a few years ago we got a fairly large blank canvas of a garden, a rotten 6x4 shed, a lawn and a HUGE pile of rocks. In between other jobs we started cleaning up the rocks and moving them to one end of the garden, they were massively overgrown and there was a good few ton of them. Early last year we placed and order for a new more substantial shed and  in between lock downs a pad got laid, the shed fitted and a new patio in front of it laid. We always planned to have some form of raised beds and planning permission form the boss was duly granted for the Railway to go in the garden, in fact I think now it is coming together she is more excited about it than me. Well the block work is in, just needs filling and cladding, but also the track work has well and truly started. The picture below pretty much gives an overview of the space, its nothing complicated, a simple two track loop, some points at the rear to allow access to/from the main lines and that's about it. This is not about the play factor but simply to be able to run trains without the need for shuttling back and forth.

Cam managed to finish the outer loop today so the teat train came back out. 37423 as its the easiest loco  to access atm and the cargowaggons as they are the longest vehicles in the current fleet.

Therre may or may not be further progress this week, we will see. But conduit and additional wire has been ordered and should be here in a day or two.

Hello @D6775Al, I have watched this thread from afar, and it is definitely coming on leaps and bounds, can I ask a question please ? What is the approximate overall size Length x Width of area the running lines are placed in please ?

    Best regards

Having lost a lot of enthusiasm latley on 'Moss Lane' l have decided to move it on to someone who has shown a lot of interest in it lately as it is without the buildings, so after a bit of haggling l have sold 'Moss Lane', so whats next ?  maybe a small diesel depot were no wagons and coaches are involved ?...

  12. Hello Andy, it’s coming on really well :good:.

Is this a practice run for when you do it in 7mm after Christmas ? Those Dapol Bubbles will look nice on an O version of Bute Rd, 1970’s era :D
