  1. Hello Fellow modellers, I thought I would put in a testament to this model shop if you live near the A55 corridor, it really is a great shop, it stocked up with most makes of kits and modellers aids, and very competitively priced with other major model shops, they also do part exchange and have a decent array of 2nd hand stock.

Well worth a visit for stocking up on those consumable items.

    Happy modelling

    Craig.

  2. Hi Jason, being an exiled Bury lad who knows the Valley area well, you really have caught this station and surrounding area superbly, and your layout topic is one of the top layouts to provide inspiration to fellow modellers.

    Bravo !!!

    Happy Modelling

    Craig.

  3. I have made a radio for the chip van, all will be revealed eventually...

(it ain't all that exciting though.)

I take you have paid your fee and are in possession of an official Performing Rights Society licence for the radio and have it displayed in the said Chip Van ?

  4. I might have a go at bidding on that, I could imagine the faces on the Staunchest of Welsh Chapel goers seeing that whizzing around stable in the lit glass Nativity Cabinet outside the Chapel "yr hyn y mae'r f***" - WTF in English.

  5. I rather think he knew exactly what he was posting.

Not sure about that Rob, I think he was a bit "Frustrated & Hot under the Collar"  at the time, I don't think it was the layout thread that was causing that either.............

  6. The Shelvington thread has been deleted, you utter bunch of cowards! Is this what you don't want people to see? RMWeb IS the corrupt domain of Andy York and his cronies manipulating where you should spend your money! Answer the damn question why you will allow selective advertising for your mates? Backhanders?

You should have checked & edited the thumbnail before you attached it, I don't think you realised what other pages are showing on your browser headers !!!!!!!!

  7. Hi Leon, lovely layout this with plenty of that gritty South Wales atmosphere  :good: With regards to the natural light problem, have you thought about using Daylight tubes ? I see the layout is in the loft, is there any chance you could position the lights 1/2 way down the roof eves so they sit above your layout, you could even put a pelmet in front of them so they concentrate the light down onto the layout and not shine out into the walkway area. I have done that in my loft area, I got the lights mounted and fed the power from a switched fused spur, and the wires are in surface mounted white plastic conduit, ok it may not be the 100% ideal situation, but it beats ripping out plaster and making a mess that way, as the conduit can be concealed in places.

Hope this idea helps, but then again you may already be doing that ???

    Best regards

    Craig.

  8. Wandering around a traction engine rally recently there was an older lady in a caravan with a tray of old Hornby stuff. On it was a well played with scuffy lizzie for £3, some other rubbish and an CKD EM2 Green "Pandora". Now mines been heavily played with (by me) in it's 50 odd years, this was mint, I mean mint, pantographs, everything, the only blemish was a very very small scratch across one of the numbers. I picked it up and she approached me looking for a deal, I knocked her down a little and made an offer which she accepted. Being a nice guy I handed it back to her and suggested she put it away, and try ebay and suggested a guide price. I really hope she got a good price, a little more than the £3 she was asking.

I wonder if Mr GhostDude or Mr Cartmel would have done that ????

  9. Twisted - Sleeper  ( It has a railway link and it's the best I can think of, mind you "twisterella" doesn't carry on from "The Rockin' Twist" )

Louise Wener grrrrrr - what ever happened too her  ? "pant pant, howl howl"

  10. His stuff is a rip-off; old Hornby models for more than new railroad ones of the same type etc. and this! That's a lot, even though it is weathered

Gosh man you don't appreciate real modelling do you ?  :wink_mini: The reason for the price tag is it is a "Code 3"........WTF is that when it's at home ?  :O

  11. Thanks guys for your comments and showing interest in the layout.

A couple of photos of the layouts home, it sits along the side of our bungalow without intruding to much into the garden. The door edge needs to be sealed to cover up the insulation ,but apart from that its dry, warm and damp free.

I am well impressed on how compact it looks from the out side, and a clever use of outside space.
