  1. I regularly buy & sell on E bay & have encountered very few problems.I have sold items for less than I expected on occasions but other times I got more than I expected to get.Thats the way of auction sites.

My one problem with sellers on E bay is postage. Its not hard to find out postage costs to various countries based on weight. I'm sure you can get a price list in all post offices showing what the costs are. Apart from one particular seller who we are all familiar with I have seen sellers charge the same postage to Ireland & the other side of the world.

When I see an item I would like I work out what it is worth to me & bid accordingly. If it goes higher then that I leave it alone. What someone is prepared to pay for an item is purely down to the buyer whether they are experienced or just beginning.I just wish people would put in a little more effort when selling their items.Give proper descriptions & be a bit more realistic in their price expectations & work out the postage costs properly. Its not rocket science.

Hi Tony, I to do a lot of trading on ebay, and finding the postage cost is even easier than going to the Post Office for a list, all the prices are on the Royal Mail website.

"or use Hattons website for a weight check cheat"

Unfortunately ebay does have its Postal "Profiteers" - Gostude springs to mind....

  2. Some people will put any old thing on eBay http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a7119270c .

    Free listing means free publicity!

    Geoff Endacott

Which Charlatan put that on there ;) I have good mind to report that item, it infringes ebay rules by errr, ummm, ermm, well by something anyway, remove it this instance.......

Clever thinking Mr Endacott, I hope it gets the result it deserves, Ebayer 1 Ebay 0.

  3. Am I mad, or does it bear a passing resemblance to the POP test vehicles?

Edit - Madness / curiousity got the better of me. I've put a bid on. :D

I saw that someone had bid on it, my thought was "they must have thought the wheels are worth 99p".

Anyway if you are the successful bidder, will you be posting some pictures of it in "The Realistic models section" ?

  6.

Its funny this, as the same seller was selling a Lima, Hornby, Bachmann Class 40 D200 last week, with a picture of the Limited edition Bachmann Model Rail release, when I contacted and asked him if this was the picture in the model, he soon changed it to a Lima version along with the appropriate picture and an apology stating he did not mean to mislead.

Hmmm may be not as dumb as they make out....until questioned.... ??

  7. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...utorefresh=true

I was aware that these were quite sought after; indeed in the past I've bought a couple when I've noticed a particularly low asking price at a show and sold them on Ebay for a small profit. But nothing like this!!

There was one of these Bachmann 40s that finished last night £56.00 plus £5.50 p+p, I wonder if it was the "unlucky" bidder that did not win the £250.00 one ?? now that really was madness for a run of the mill model.
