  1. Ok, Three comments; 1) whats the problem with the 37 start up? - thats a good one..... 2) its advertising chinese women for dates..... 3) scroll a little further down and listen to the class 40 start up - its a fire breathing beast.........
  2. These diesel's were so bad that; It took 3 of them just to back on to a train - never mind pulling it!! Photo, from Brian Morrisons 'Diesels on the regions - Western Region'
  3. Young Mr Spams sent me his like earlier, its a bit of video footage of the layout at Warley courtesy of them chaps at BRM. https://www.model-railways-live.co.uk/Features/Video_Highlights_from_the_2011_Warley_National_Model_Railway_Exhibition/ I'm chuffed to bits we are considered a highlight. Our bits about a quarter of the way in. Enjoy......
  4. Sing;; "whats that coming over the hill?? is it as monster? is it a monster? I going to buy them all up and have them melted down - thats the wheel sets and the loco's
  5. I'm just trying to imagine 'Owd Grinder' flying around...... .......and I can't. Just placing an order for yet more Ultrascale wheels - in the hope they will be available for our next show in April.
  6. Appologies Pete, Still like the idea of Levers and holes tho
  7. What, we thinking 'Britians Got Model Railway Talent' style?? Perhaps we could have a more 'room 101' approach where some one pulls a lever and the offending item disappears into the ground. This could include layouts, people, food and beer we dont like.
  8. Tis true we need more members. Warley was a real struggle with only 3 of us. I've not mentioned to the team that one of the invites we recieved over the weekend was for both the layouts at the same show!!
  9. Oh don't worry; our layouts have smells - just not the right ones.
  10. Brush Type two's? They were my earliest memories of railways, rail blue examples shunting coal/ grain on the crossing at Louth, which at that point was a freight only branch from Grimsby - a far Cry from the GNR Grimbsy/ Peterborough/ London main line it once was. That said its the other type two's that really do it for me. One of the concepts that is kicking around for a future layout in 'O' gauge is "Mc Rats on the Clyde" which yes, would be full of sulzer type two's, and it would be based on half of Motherwell shed in Green/Blue era...... Lot's of old ex steam buildings with smelly diesels. I'm sure its been done before
  11. You've used the word secret??? Dirty hydraulics - oooo yes - all those wonderful sounds Perhaps some corporate sponsorship? Hey Andy?
  12. Cheers for that. Shame there wasn't the occasional Deltic visit down there! At least I don't think there was.....
  13. Had a fantastic weekend Sorry for not hearing your 'hello' Next time just throw something at us
  14. Thanks Monty. We won't be there next year so you may not need the two days - ha ha. We'll be there the year after with Johns ' Once Upon a Time in The West' 1919 New Mexico layout.
  15. What a fabulous weekend!!!! Thank you all for your kind comments both on this web-thingy and at the show. I feel a real buzz today - I'm on a real high - Has anyone got anyone got any photo's they fancy posting? - as usual we didn't have any time to take any in between, beer, pies and lots of yapping.......
  16. Just remembered, I need to pick you pair up at Tamworth. Now where did I hire that van from??
  17. Oh dear. I've only ordered a High Top Transit I'm now thinking I need a 7.5 tonner!! I knew I shouldnt have rushed into this. ha ha ha
  18. Hope you can make it, please say hello. I agree Uckfield is a cracking show, we took TG there a few years ago and were impressed by the consistant high quality of all the layouts.
  19. New recruits for Warley are; 37 413, 37 521 and 09012. Yes yes I know - an 09? Then plan for the 09 is de-pipe it into an 08 at some point..
  20. Thanks for the compliment - especially since its such a poor picture. All of the 37's were resprayed by Jon Gavin at Peak-Dale works. He's made an excellent job, I'm very pleased with them. Just in the process of re-wheeling and chiping 521, a flush fronted machine. Jon used a Rail Express limited edition for the basis of this one because of its flush fronted nose.
