  1. That's brilliant! I've got a garden full of fruit trees! Infact, perhaps I'm not eating enough bad things.....
  2. Vulcan Bomber - what a great name!! I'm looking at a couple of pic's on my wall I took of 558 flying over my house. Thanks for the compliment on the layout The backscene is MDF painted with 'sky' first by my artistic friend 'Owd Gringer'. We then applied gaugemaster backscenes with the sky cut off (i.e. the hills only). The reason we did this is that the sky on the gaugemaster backscene is not very deep. We needed it a lot deeper.
  3. It was great to meet you guys and chat through the proposals. 2mm Finescale? I don't know how you work in such as size? I can't even see it!!! Anything you guys need just let us know as we have amassed quite a lot of info now. Can't wait to see the fruits of your work. Operating 2mm finescale turntable anyone?
  4. Hmmmm, Perhaps we've created the wrong impression regarding our eating habits over the weekend. Personally I don't see a problem with a ''few'' pasties and cream teas over the course of a couple of days - 'as part of a calorie-controlled diet'. Anyway we weren't eating pasties all the time, we snook in a couple of large steaks (with stilton sauce) and a fews bags of pickled onion Monster Munch in between. Not forgetting a touch of the forbidden sauce.......
  5. Very true. We had to eat them all to stop them spreading on this thread. In fact, I'm still full with both pasties and cream tea's.
  6. Just for a change on this thread, a few pictures of the layout! - from Truro show...
  7. Ah! If its 671 then thats no good to me as mine is painted in the sub sector livery, when it was delivered to BZ with the wrong decals (metals I think). I'm interested in 412 and will probably model it in Large logo in as received from Scotland condition - just to give some variety. I've also just bought an Intercity liveried 37/4 off E-bay, so will have to decide what number this will carry. Answers on a postcard....... I'll post some layout shots from Trura if I get chance later..
  8. Craig, Fabulous photo's Probably the best I've seen for the period. The third photo down has a red stripe machine with ploughs. What number is it?
  9. Ready for the off to 'Trura'. (it's full of pies you know......)
  10. I've just noticed that we've hit 43106. Isn't that the number of the sole surviving 'flying pig'?
  11. I see 'The good, The bad and The Ugly's web page has been classified 'HOT'. I dont know about the other amigo's but I've never been accused of being hot before.....
  12. So, Jobs completed; I've made the fiddle yard legs, done the wiring mods, checked it works, re-painted/weathered the roundhouse roof and went to the Great Northern for a couple. Should I have audited the bits and tidied the stock boxes instead of the visit to the Great Northern? Probably - but it was on the list. Chris - You have made a fabulous job of that building. I'm seriously impressed. And yes the GWR St Blazey box would look great on the end of the layout. Geoff - I'm well-pleased with how those wagons are turning out. There's a down side to making such a good job of it tho. You know you're bound to get asked to do other stuff - there's a full Royal Mail TPO rake in need of assembly..... Treggyman - Your photo's of BZ would of great interest to us. If you wouldn't mind posting a few it would be most appreciated. And yes, I'm cheeky, I Know....
  13. Right then, the final sort-out for Truro begins. Job's for today include; - Make a set of legs for the fiddle yard - Wiring mods (some of the wiring is 'commoned' on copper clad stips (I ran out of time and material for it's first show), it's now getting tidied up and being soldered to better quality tag strips) - Check the flipping thing works - Do an audit on all the bits required - Tidy the stock boxes - Nip down the Great Northern for a quick sniff
  14. Nor me, I've been down the pub. Don't get me wrong, I like modelling, but its not always my first priority........
  15. Chris Spams; If you need some help on the engineering building colour scheme, try howtopaintthehouse.com There's some pretty colourfull ideas........ Anything else you need help with, just let me know......
