Nice easy EM conversion using original wheels opened out and supplied cranked brake disc shoes. Thanks Rapido for accommodating the finer scale brigade . Just a small plea , could the tales on the superb screw couplings be made a bit longer as they are capable of being used . I have them running on my Shenston road using supplied couplings but would have liked a bit more to push into the buffer beam to aid fixing so to speak. Nice one Rapido great value.

How about supplying the models with fine scale wheels but making course scale wheels available for those with course scale track. Its a shame to see the standards drop for compromise after all they are labelled accurascale . It may help to increase modelling standards after all that's what most of us strive for. Just a thought cheers Greg

Latest one to the Shenston fleet and a long way from home 5105 in Tyne dock garb . Re numbered ,boiler water tanks taken off and remove and fill boiler roof exhaust and roof hatch and add high level air pipe for operating Consett ore hops and finished off with light weathering copied from pic. Although l operate DC l chose the sound version for this one as the feature works well enough to warrant the extra cost .

Stunning Phil ,looking forward to these.

I have bought 20 3 hole EM gauge AG wheels recently and they have all been pressed onto the axle off center during manufacturer rendering them useless. Very disappointed

How realistic are your models? Photo challenge.

Hi Ruston The coil body was an old Trix which was surprisingly accurate so l added various chassis parts from the Appleby range to model various fitted and unfitted examples l could find in pics l have collected. -

A flurry of activity on B.S.C. Shenston . Hornby Sentinel reguaged to EM and a couple of Clark kits roll wagons -
D5021 copied from a pic taken at Man Pic complete with replacement buffer in red oxide .Yet another superb model from SLW. .

D5140 added to the Shenston fleet . A fair bit of mod to this one as it was partially skirted so l swapped the chassis around and added some of the skirting carefully copying from the pictures l have ,modified the exhaust and weathered to look pretty shabby , again carefully copying from pictures .

Two of mine converted to class 25/0 D5155 and 5151. A nice easy conversion as the boiler water tanks are easy to separate and the boiler exhaust and roof hatch filled and removed .Wheels opened out and flanges reprofiled to EM.

Hi Daniel thanks for the nice comments .I do have a more modern tops fleet , mainly locos and stock l have worked on throughout my footplate career but unfortunately no HST set as they are not my interest. The pre tops period was a big part of my childhood and is of a time l have tried to create. Cheers Greg

Hi Phil yes l too have considered the lower floor handle but cannot find a way to consistently replicate it . Thanks the the nice comments .

Another pic of D7093 the final hymeks in my revamp project,on the stabling point. Taken with my camera phone it allows for a low down more realistic pic , it also can be very unforgiving showing up any discrepancy as you can get a very close up shot .l have forgotten to paint out the D as per the prototype so this will be addressed. The buffers have came up, well simply treated with a soft leaded pencil after being painted the appropriate colours,a tip l was given by an RMWEB member. Happy modelling Greg

Hi All. I thought it was about time I started up grading the not as glamorous of the hydraulics, my hymeks. This has meant applying the Shawplan etched numbers, something I have put of for a long time and improving on the weathering. After cutting out and filing any remaining tabs I applied some matt Vallejo acrylic varnish in a thin line ,placed the numbers and once they were lined up re-varnished to fix.Well worth the effort and not as fiddly as I feared.I have also added the jumper cable made out of 0.3 mm brass wire to add to the clutter of the front end and also fitted the behind the buffer beam air tanks .So far 3 done 4 more to go. happy modelling Greg
