  1. The obvious ones are the Hunslet 4-6-0T and Baldwin Class 10-12-D 4-6-0T
  2. . Any chance of an "OO9" body to fit on an N-gauge chassis ? .
  3. . Thanks for that - a fascinating site. ----- Again I will vote for Oxford producing a plain coloured "civilian" version of all their military vehicles. I got the platinum 2013 Matador because you can take the canvas tilt off to get a plain coloured Matador (even if the colour is a bit odd). .
  4. I am surprised that the Southern did not extend its third rail through the tunnels and then use electric locos - it would have given them a huge advantage.
  5. . I think this is very "brave" of Bachmann ( in the Sir Humphrey sense ! ). Is this the first OO Steam locomotive that did not last to run into the "late crest" era since the Lord of the Isles and Stirling Single ? How many liveries did the SIX H2s run in ? Even the H1s are going to need a clever bit of mould design IF they are to be produced (did anyone ask a Bachmann representative about that possility ? I would have preferred an 0-4-4T or S-15, but good luck and profits to Bachmann. --------- The one really good thing is that this MUST bring forward the day that an Adams 0415 radial 4-4-2T is produced ( I still remember that picture in the Wrenn catalogue). .
  6. . Did Beachy Head ever manage to acquire the late BR Crest, or did she go to her end still in the early emblem ? Thanks .
  7. . Has anyone got some pictures of "Trehayne" ( I believe this was the "old" Bodmin Model Railway Club travelling exhibition layout). .
  8. .......... I hope OD release several versions as used for contracting and forestry after the war ......... Yes, I hope that Oxford release a lot of their military vehicles in civilian guise.
  9. . Happy New Year - now I know why all those Scts celebrate at Midnight on the 31st December ! Hattons have sent an e-mail saying that they expect the Earl Class sometime "between December 2013 and January 2014" ! Maybe they get special rates for delivery before the bank holiday. .
  10. . Was it Fleischmann (????) that announced an OO9 Festiniog Double Fairlie about 5 years ago ? Does anyone know how far along they got with developing the model ? .
  11. . Depends on the time period. Mitcham itself had quite substantial sidings until they were lifted in about 1962 (they served a paint factory and other industrial outlets. Mitcham Junction not only had a rather weird layout, but had a decent little goods yard. Hampton Court (terminus) had a busy yard and carriage sidings layout and Chessington South was a large coal depot.
  12. . Any comments on the latest cgi photos shown in the latest "Model Rail" magazine (July), p.10 ? The article also states that the BR versions are "close to being fully reserved" and goes on to say "although there will be more BR versions in Batch 2". .
  13. . I must agree with maxthemapman. It MIGHT be different if the 2-BIL was a budget Railroad model, but such problems as with the bogies (and the rather crude "design clever" roof ventilators) along with the rather weird pricing games that SEEM to have been associated with the 2-BIL (various new ones leaking into shops having officially sold out months ago) have rather taken the shine away from what should have been a shot-in-the-arm for Southern EMU modellers. .
  14. . Excellent ! Now all I need is a photo of a Dukedog, Beattie Well Tank and C-class altogether. .
  15. . The St Trinian's Great Train Robbery is on several times next week on "Freeview" channels. .
  16. . Thank-you "Miss Prism". The Dukedogs were pure "character". I hope that Bachmann produce many versions over many years. .
  17. . It looks lovely. Does anyone know the correct timescale for a 2-car unit with day-glow orange "V" ? .
  18. . Excellent, good to see that it isn't a dog ! Did you notice whether the NRM version actually DOESN'T have the figure 1 on the first class area door s? .
  19. . I will almost certainly buy one or two if they run properly. I would suggest that with the 100th anniversary of WW1 coming up that models of the trench railways would be popular and of course the locos could have been traded on "post-war". .
  20. . Totally, utterly and completely off-topic. There is a vet's surgery in East Molesey (just down the road from you) that has a claimed original dalek on display (it belongs to one of the vets). It is dark grey. .
  21. Was there a reason why the blue and yellow on the 2_BILs (and 4-CORs) faded so badly ? .
  22. . I was looking at the review of the Hornby 2-BIL in the February edition of The Railway Modeller which features unit number 2090 which is the "NRM" version. It looks very nice, but I noticed that the unit does NOT have the figure "1"'s denoting first class on the appropriate doors. Is this correct for the NRM museum version, and is it appropriate for any period of BR real life running ? ( Likewise the Hornby website shows the "NRM" version without the figure "1". ) http://www.Hornby.com/shop/2013-range/diesel-and-electric-locomotives-and-packs/r3177-br-2-bil-2-car-emu-nrm/ Thanks
  23. Thanks, very kind of you. .
  24. . Thanks. No details of the "NRM" version ? .
