  2. Not sure its about the ordinary members - if the Guild gets into financial difficulty then potentially it is the directors who could become financially viable. So it appears the thinking is its better to present around a third of show and let the traders who cancel or suffer reduced takings take the hit, along with the punters who have paid full price for part of an event. Bit like buying a ticket for a premier division game and seeing it played as a 5 a side.
  3. Interestingly the Guild forum now contains members posts exclaiming how easy their journey to Kettering was. Without wishing to comment directly on the Guild's financial situation, the recently published accounts show a cost cutting programme has had to be implemented and I suspect there would have been a financial imperative on the decision not to cancel.

  5. I think they are still expecting the ones that are not in bold type, so there may be more than 23 by the time the show opens. Although, even if all those on the list do attend it is still only 43 of the guide list.
  6. This list of traders attending was published at 8:10am in the members area of the Guild forum. Those that have already arrived are shown as 'here'. This has been posted here for the benefit on non-Guild members who may be thinking of attending. 7. There is list on the public area of the Gauge O Guild website, but it is already incorrect as a number of traders on the list have stated in the Guild's members forum that they are not attending. Others who are travelling tomorrow, are waiting to see what the weather conditions are before deciding and some of those attending have indicated they are bringing reduced stock. Hopefully the Guild will post an accurate list before opening time tomorrow, but I am not holding my breath. The latest cancellation is the Scale 7 Group.
  8. Ah, Hillbilly land, at least their not Smoggies Auf Wiedershen Pet
  9. No, train actually as they were still trying to get to the Gauge O Guild bash in Kettering tomorrow - don't get me started on that, I have already tried to cause trouble the relevant thread Nipple Erectus
  10. As I wasn't working today, I also spent several hours looking at unusual birds. Unfortunately the local constabulary intervened and have confiscated by PC. Strange that as I thought they had enough PCs already, Don Macintosh
  11. Unfortunately I feel it is a little foolish for the Guild to continue with this show, even though weather conditions in the area are deteriorating and weather and travel warnings are in place. Whilst I know we are all adults and free to make decisions, no doubt anyone travelling who runs into trouble will expect assistance from a relevant emergency service, taking them away from people who for no fault of their own need their assistance such as health or other emergencies that are not weather related.

  13. The weather front seems to be moving in. I live approx. 30 miles south of Kettering and it's been snowing hard here since 2pm, on top of what we had last night, the sky looks full and more is forecast. Disappointingly it means I am unlikely to be able to visit, despite living so close.
  14. Thanks, I was surprised I didn't have anyone bidding against me, which made me think I had missed some obvious problem in the photos. It was delivered quickly and appears to be defect free.
  15. The bad weather has meant that further brick painting has been done and another building along the backscene completed. Gutters have been fitted, but downpipes etc. are still on the workbench. I can't claim to have produced the 'Princess Royal' wagon, it was purchased on Ebay for a very reasonable price. Currently in-build on my workbench is a JLTRT Cambrian / GWR 2 Plank Open.

  17. According to their post in their thread on this forum, Little Loco Co are not attending Kettering tomorrow, but are offering free postage for orders as compensation.
  18. I see from some trader's websites, they are saying although they are still attending they may be bringing reduced stock levels e.g. Streamlines website says they have cancelled their van and will be bringing pre-ordered stock and whatever else he can fit in his 4x4
