  1. Love the model. If the roofers don't turn up it can come as it is. After the show I think we should attach the sleeper platform edges to the model you have built and the sit it on the corrugated platform edge. Love it Andy
  2. Not the only B3 in the room next weekend. This one is on Tackeroo.. Andy
  3. ok I can see that is Bodmin at Bodmin. As for all those people I suspect they have heard that something was being given away for free... pasties, Scones etc, that aught to get em out Andy....
  4. I cant see the corn store, the goods shed, the station building, the waiting room, the distinctive canopy, the cottages, that little hut off Tenko. That could be Dudley for all I know!! Andy
  5. Anyway, rule one applies... its your layout etc etc.. Andy
  6. You know what they are.... On a small North Cornish branch line, surely not!! Andy
  7. Tackeroo was put through its paces last night in a Staffordshire village hall. As the Staffordshire finescale group don't have a clubroom and all of the members build layouts that are bigger than their homes putting a layout up is always an issue. I have been working through small electrical and PW issues and last night things moved and turnouts worked. A small snagging list has been created but I am move comfortable than I have been. Looking forward to the show. Message to traders and exhibitors... talk us through your run up to the show on this thread, keep it live, keep it current, good or bad keep it at the top of the 'new contents' lets get some folk through though the door!!! Andy
  8. Old gringo met me last night at a little village hall to put Tackeroo up and give it a run.. We are at the expo 'up North' exhibition on the 9th and 10th and need to see what's still not working. At the Staffordshire Finescales Showcase in July it just didn't work at all. It was the first time the boards were joined up and we had a show to run so we just parked it as a diorama. Since then I have taken the boards off Andy temporarily as he has some work / life disractions and I have wired it through for DC working and the points are also now running off switches and Dc power. It's just a temporary arrangement and last night things were moving and turnouts were changing. I've still come away with a list of jobs, nothing too major. Looking forward to the show. Andy
  9. I wouldn't want to be the one that puts the hand brake on, I assume it is that central wheel on the wagon. I love the whole scene. Andy
  10. I suspect it was a catalogue of small issues. We are at Expo EM North in a fortnight. Andy has some work life distractions so I have taken the boards off him. So... I can only do what I know so for this show only it will be DC. Reasonably confident that something will move. I have booked the local village hall for a test night on the 29th. Still lots to do Andy
  11. if I had even thought about how you wire to a point motor I would have bought those. Possibly too late now but I will do that in the future. even if it is to allow swift change at a show. Andy
  12. Ive been wiring this morning... Its not an unpleasant job... I hate track work however and I have some essential adjustments to some rails later, Or I could just do more wiring By the way, one thing we never plan when designing layouts is how are we going to get the soldering iron to those tortoise terminals, Andy Y has already had a go at this one, I can tell by the burnt base board timber.. Ive added a few fresh burns myself. Andy
  13. That's nice, the Goathland taxi driver is letting Paul have a steer. Andy
  14. How does that scale do for figures. I love the locomotive and its crying out for a crew? Its sort of 90 - 100 mm for a person isn't it? Andy
  15. Be careful... Brownie points have a surprisingly short shelf life.. Use them or loose them! Andy
  16. And Jam making Warwickshire coal was taken down in pairs of working boats on what is now the grand union canal to the Kearley and Tonge jam factory in Southall. The dock at the factory was called the Jam 'ole and it was referred to as the Jam ole run. I think Kearsley and Tonge also made biscuits Andy
  17. Later than I said but these are the military traing camp railways operating during ww1. The MOD took control of their operation from 1916. Larkhill Fovant Codford Sutton Veny Catterick Ripon Cannock Chase Clipstone Grantham Kinmel Prees Heath Oswestry Catterick was the longest of the training camp systems at 21 miles (this remained in place after WW1. Cannock Chase was the second longest at just over 13 miles Andy
  18. The 0-4-0 is a mystery other than it is clearly WD No. 60. We know that there were no 4 wheel locos on the chase. The Manning Wardle by the little hut / power plant in the back ground is L Class Grassholme. 1513 / 1901. You can track down bits of its history on the internet. It doesn't appeared to have stayed too long with the military. Andy
  19. That is excellent... I know the Ivory peters video and when I saw the post on 'how realistic...... I was immediately reminded of 'victor'. Love the modelling and your perseverance. Andy
