Sun glistening of the windscreen.... Using up the spare pictures. I don't about you but when I do a series of pictures I don't always do them in order. A picture is taken then you think what if I moved the loco back there and then forwards again so you end up with a strange sequence which I then sort out when I post... Like all good game shows, these pictures will be arriving in no particular order

Beautiful loco which portrays immense power and grace. Funny, but I was looking at your recent group of pictures of this loco and it brought back memories of my youth. In the early, to mid 60's when we lived in Little Chalfont the main Metropolitan Line ran close to where we lived and very often after school or weekends we would go down to what we called 'the woods' and stand on the overbridge. My vivid recollections would be one of those loco's (normally black) pulling 4 or 6 crimson coaches hurtling along the line belching white smoke heading to Chorleywood and beyond (and the other way of course to Amersham). We would wave and the crew in many instances would wave back and I am convinced the driver would open a vent/valve so more smoke/cinders than normal would engulf us.... The power of memories and to think we took steam locos for granted then and now most of us would wish they would return!

I am glad you liked them and apologies for causing you to drool. In my folder I still have 10 more pictures that I haven't done anything with so I will wait awhile before posting anymore to give you a chance to finish your breakfast!!! Many thanks

Now there's a thought, that might explain why they seem a bit reticent to move or open it.....
-
I can't find anybody brave enough to move it.....

With the sun beginning to set, it catches the front windscreen of the railcar as it sweeps around the corner on it's return trip from Little Muddle.
-
Railcar moving on into the distance... Hang on a minute, do my eyes deceive me or is that a tail lamp I see on No.8's rear end!
-
Originally it finished like this. May 2009 Compare to the current one and you can see how much 'tweaking' I have done over the years...

That's OK. No, the top piece with the diary and Encombe Town Station on was.

Time for some movement on Little Muddle before all those passengers pack up and go home. Railcar time.... No 8 leaving Encombe Town Station Now we have this ongoing issue with lamps so I thought the easiest way to sort that out was to conceal the brackets Behind a sign for example Or angle the camera so they weren't in shot.... Or miss the end of the train off.... Excellent Well that should sort that....!

I know Alan, I know, you lot keep being telling me that and to think for Christmas my daughter brought me these... Doh….So I suppose I ought to do something about it.... Why can't a chap just go through life with lampless loco's....!

The newsagents/tobacconists... Taken by holding the iPhone upside down, focusing on the large window and leaning at a very strange angle to push the take button....! Need a name..... Any suggestions? and the best one will be selected by the discerning readers of course.

Spent a night on the tiles, with a bit of tidying up to do once roof dirt wash dried. So now the attention moves around to the newsagents and fitting that out.... Please note lead flashing to side of brick chimney, all is present and correct. Apart from the fact there is no rainwater goods but that will follow in due course.
