  1. Just took a few more photos of the Hawkins Indiana cbc. One is an overhead view showing the basic plan at the left are the coldstore trailer & diner, then yard track at top sidewalk, deport building & sidewalk crossing signal base with a single track to show main track, but due to cbc size only 1 rail. The base I have used cheap track which I had at hand. The main scenic are built up from layers of form sheets in black grey & brown. The others are of the 3 structure depot diner & coldstore along with track bumper.

  4. Hi I've been working on a CBC idea based on a smaltown USA, set in Hawkins Indiana with a depot & small diner. This is my 1st active model railway project in a while so I've done a few things that are following my love of small space detailed modelling. I have tired to use as many of the items I have collected over the years. For those Sci-Fi Cult TV fans I'm using on of the oldest DR Who meeting one of the newest Stranger Things. The scene is around a small depot with part streetscene. Stranger Things is set in Hawkins, Indiana in the mid 1980's and Dr Who I've gone for 12th Dr saying goodbye to assistant Clara in a US Diner at the end of modern series 9. I set Hawkins in South West Indiana on the Monon Midland Branch, by 1980's this would be late Seaboard Systems early CSX time frame of an old Monon Branch which became part of the L&N, then Seaboard. The Depot is a new model I'm adding to a 1/100th scale 20mm wargamers building by Peter Pig into a small passenger deport area & freight shed with ramp. To hide the 1/100 scale I'm adding siding & HO scale parts doors & windows. The diner is from a Dapol Shop with flat kit had in store, along with the diner is a small coldstore from a cheap coke lorry also in collection of parts. The shop has been turned round to have the balcony at the back the canopy roof is from a plastic ice cream tube lid & razor handle for sign. Other parts like sidewalks are from a children toy roadway.

  8. This good news. I have put together a Mid Suffolk Light Railway Album or Middy on my flickr site. So you can have an idea of current Mid Suffolk set up, and how Brockford has altered over last 8 years. I will be looking forward to an longer train ride. Also I have sent sent a Middy article into Chris Ford at Scale Rail International Magazine. https://www.flickr.com/photos/75088377@N06/albums/72157647171639659
  9. SRI 7 should be hitting the doormat of the world soon. Got mine this am. Good mixed issue as ever. Must finish that 37/4 article for Chris. Rather pleased another article & photos published this time on the Soller Tram & Train in Mallorca. https://www.flickr.com/photos/75088377@N06/albums/72157652276673972
  10. Hi SRI blog spot has got index of issues 1 to 5 http://www.scalerailsint.blogspot.co.uk

  13. SRI 5 now out I have replied to latest editorial by Chris Ford in SRI 5, he mentioned about not pleasing all the people all the time. Well I think Chris is getting the mix about right, he can only publish the articles he receives. So if you have an interesting article or photos of both models or prototype let Chris know. Over the years of I have been a reader of various Chris Ellis model titles and developed an eclectic interest in railways worldwide. I have an interest in everything and anything it common dominator been the iron rails the railways run on. I have submitted article on unusual subjects, the Old Pool Bank Quarry Railway featured in SRI 3 & a photo of Ransome's Small Shunting Tractor in SRI 5. With an article of the Island of Mallorca, Soller Train & Tram also submitted. Hopefully some of my prototype photos will provide inspiration for modellers. I have put many of my eclectic interest in photos up on my Flickr site, in different albums. https://www.flickr.com/photos/75088377@N06/ The one that sums it up is my 35th Years Album as going through older photos I find my oldest taken photo from 1978 of a Douglas Horse Tram, so the Collection features 1 photo a year since then, with horse, steam, diesel, electric & battery powered trains, freight & passenger, modern & heritage, 1st and Last days, oldest ones to then newest on special or plain ordinary days, all types of railways including funiculars and rack in the UK, Ireland, Europe & Canada.
  14. Issue 3 out early November. I'm a bit biased by this one as it has my article on the long closed Old Pool Bank Quarry Railway in West Yorkshire. Issue 4 just out. Think Chris is starting to get the balance between modelling & prototype articles. Some simple adverts but not pages from them the big box shifters.
  15. Has had enough of this fourum, so won't be posting again, as it seems on finescale modellers are welcome. Bye from this bodger.

Not that you'll be reading this, friend, as you will probably have gone, if your update is accurate, but don't you think you might have given us a bit more of a chance? 13 posts isn't exactly a lot to judge us by, surely?

Everyone here produces models to their own different standards. What we all have in common is we enjoy doing what we do and are welcome here.
