  3. Hi Jim, enjoy this thread. I live near Sleaford Lincs, and wondered if you would know about the Colas to and from Boston? I see one at Sleaford station about 1815 on week days heading towards Boston 47 mainly but 56 sometimes. Are they empty going to Boston or full? Also would you have an idea of the weight of full train please Jim? Times of them would be good try to photo the 56 but not much luck. Kind regards, Gordon Wilson

  8. Two guys go for a job interview back in the early 60s First guy goes in and notice straight away the boss has no ears so after a few questions, the boss says do you notice any thing different about me? He said yes you have no ears!! The boss said ok disapointed, send the next person in please! So as he went out he said to the other guy whatever you do do not mention about the boss's lack off ears, he is very sensitive. The second guy goes in and again after a few question's from the boss, he is asked the same question about anything different? Quickly the guy said yes you must have very good eye sight, Well thats very discerning of you the boss says, why do you think that? Well you cannot wear glasses can you!!!!! Sorry if it is a repeat...
  9. Nice find there, I believe the van is a Ford Anglia not HA Bedford. If any help? Gordon Wil
  10. Really nice Merfyn, Do like your conversions. Keep up the good work. Regards, Gordon W.
  11. Do not know if this helps, but my late father was based at Hitchin Herts PW DEPARTMENT in the 60-80s and he collected his new vehicles from York Way in London which was a very large garage at the time.He started with an Austin k2 with a tilt covered back, then the first new vehicle was 1960 Bed TK also with a tilt back (photo on here BLR 120). After the TK came BMC Stub nose FG that I remember. That was yellow open back. Can not recall the reg. Our neibour also drove for BR at the same time as my father in Engineering, He had a flat nose Morris Comercial boxed rear, then 1960 had a Thames trader short wheel base tipper. can not remember any others he had. Do remember my father driving a CA Bed mini bus on Sunday workings, no split screen. The parcel side had a Bedford before the J mod with cab in the body type. a few scam and karrier artics. Regards. Gordon Wil

  17. Many thanks Merf, I do like looking at the models. You have a good display there. The 1.76 scale is now getting very good and you can have a lot more compared to my 1/43/50 ones. Regards Gordon.
  18. Very nice Merf, Would it be alot of trouble for you to show a pic of all your models on scene so to speak. Or is that to many? Regards, Gordon Wil.
  19. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24796741@N05/sets/72157604247242338/show/with/2346008881/ Sorry if this as been posted before. Really great photography. Gordon W
  20. Thanks for that Jcb, I prefer the 1/50 scale and I do like to have a model based on a real example. But I must admit the scope for dioramas is great with the 1/76 and rail models. Been looking at the pics from the show thread, really great. Gordon
  21. Jcb, why if I may ask does that info change your opinion of getting the Atki now? Do you prefer to know the history of an exact vehicle to be modeled? Thanks, Gordon.
  22. I like the display shot it makes it much more interesting to look at. Some excellent diorama shots on the site, very clever some modellers. Gordon
