  1. Thanks for the like's etc. Thought I would post some more photo's this time with trains all taken in the last year.
  2. Wolfstatt is a father and son project which has taken 10 years to get it to a reasonable exhibition standard. The layout measures 30ft x10ft and represents a Austrian alpine main line set to present day. My son Lewis and I decided we wanted to do something together back in 2011 and spent a couple of years visiting exhibitions to help formulate what we were going to build. Over a period of time we came to the conclusion we wanted to model full length trains in a main line environment which meant we needed to go large and it needed to be a tail chaser style layout. We settled on Austria because we wanted to create something different on the exhibition circuit and as it was a country we knew a bit about felt confident we could pull off a convincing Austrian scene. We were also drawn by the quality of the models produced. Membership of the Austrian railway group followed which created a pool of individuals who proved most helpful on so many points raised over the years. Many new friends were made and these individuals now make up the core of the 8 man team needed to take Wolfstatt on the road. Wolfstatt is DCC operated by Wi-Fi, we originally used the Prodigy system however after experiencing problems at our second exhibition with smart phone control we are in the process of moving over to a Z21 system. I will now try and upload a few photo's.
  3. After lurking in the background for 10 years I thought it was about time I put Wolfstatt in the public domain. This is the first photo others to follow however PaulRhb has posted a excellent layout video on youTube which can be found by a simply searching wolfstatt. More details to follow. Craig.
  4. I bought a high end version 4 years ago when they were first released. I totally agree with you it's a stunning model the rooftop details are on another level. I have several other items from Jagerndorfer overall I don't think they can be bettered IMO there Taurus is superior to Roco's. The next item from them to join my fleet will be a CD Railjet set with a 1216 at some point.
  5. I have just purchased 4073 Carephilly Castle and have noticed that the brass strip on the cab leading edge is missing having checked photo's I can find plenty of evidence of the strip being there when built and the early years but its difficult to be sure on mid 30's photos when it ran with a shirt button logo. Photo's at Steam show the brass strip missing. Has the model been made correct or is this a error on Hornby's part? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
  6. For you sir access charges will happily be removed.
  7. Hi Pete. not to mention the 20 odd lorry's for the wagons and then a layout to run them on LOL. Could always arrange running rights along the Arlberg towards Wolstatt ? All the best for the new year. Craig
  8. Hi Meatloaf, Manor is sorted. I did a reset and tried F8 and the fire box glow was on. So many thanks for your help, I just don't understand why the sound list supplied makes no mention of this had this been the case I would of picked up on it at the beginning. I don't at this stage have any idea what I did wrong main thing is it's sorted.
  9. Yes I tried 0, I have been adjusting CV's so I may have done something to effect the glow. I could try a factory default reset just in case, do you happen to know what it is please?
  10. Just tried F8 and no glow maybe I have a problem if it should light up with the shovel sound. Thanks for the quick reply.
  11. Thanks for the F8 tip, yes mine is factory sound fitted I will go and have a look.
  12. Fire box glow turn on issue. I'm having trouble turning on the firebox glow. My DCC system is a Prodigy advance two, loco instructions show firebox glow on AUX 1 which my handset doesn't appear to have. I do have a ACC button which has a on off function however this wont turn on the firebox glow. I have tried both the main and program track. Has anyone else encountered this problem ? If so any guidance would be most welcome please. Craig
  13. Gerhard, many thanks for your kind comment regarding Wolfstatt. Coming from you who grew up in Austria your remarks are very much appreciated. Craig.
  14. Hi Vecchio Love the tail markers, your post has triggered an addition to the to do list for Wolfstatt although I will be making the present day rectangular version. Enjoy the Milton Keynes show, I sadly won't make it I was at a friends home layout all last weekend and we will be in Loughborough with Wolfstatt this coming weekend so a third railway weekend in a row is pushing it with the domestic authority. Craig
  15. Hi Peter, Glad you managed to get in, it's very nerve racking taking expensive models apart and praying it all goes back OK. I've just reassembled a Roco SBB panoramic coach having installed passengers, this is a new model and at £93.00 I took a couple of weeks to pluck up the courage to open it up. End result is a pleasing look and thankfully no damage. Completed in time to take its place in the Arlberg rake this coming weekend at Loughborough. If you fancy a ride up the M1 would be great to see you there. Craig.
  16. Even more odd is you spend hundreds of pounds and the loco comes with a white floor. They have installed a driver and glazing etc so there has to be a way in. Craig.
  17. Hi Pete. Having grappled with a Jagerndorfer 1163 slowly dismantling the whole thing getting the body off to then finally realise the roof just uncliped could this be the same? Cheers, Craig.
  18. Wolfstatts 2nd outing is fast approaching, we will be at SVMR clubs annual exhibition Loughborough Grammar school August 12th/13th. If you plan visiting come and say hello. Craig
  19. Keith, A regular sight in Austria so can be incorporated in your growing fleet of OBB stock.
  20. Yes Wolfstatt is my first attempt at building a model railway However I have been a railway modeller all my life (if that makes any sense ) just haven't until now got round to actually building the railway. Its been a 10 year build with many new skills learnt and mistakes made as I'm sure you will have had similar experience of. Craig.
  21. Paul, not sure if you are Dcc, if so have you considered Wi-Fi using smart phones. It's so easy as you witnessed on Wolfstatt recently.
  22. Hi Keith, looking at the photo's the marks are hardly noticeable, I would think cleaning them with lens cleaner has removed any dirt that was lodged in the marks. My take on this is toothpaste any scratches I find in clear plastic are treated to a little toothpaste on an ear bud and gently rubbed in then polished of repeat this a couple of times and you should get a high clear polished look. you won't damage the Perspex however to prove the process to yourself try it on some scrap material first. The 1014 is one of my favorites too, mine is also the same livery version as yours which aren't that easy to find. Have funn.
  23. We only have the one Railjet, we were however operating by directional running something very rarely modelled. I love to see two trains travelling in the same direction. This was very much part of our origanal game plan which is part of every day life on the continent.
