Dear all Dose anyone know of or can point me in the direction of a supplier who can provide a Alpine mountain backscene. I have searched all the major manufactures ie Faller etc and haven't found anything suitable. I'm looking for something early summer with clear blue sky and snow capped mountains. This needs to be Alpine not Rockies. Any help would be much appreciated. Craig.

I have used this system for around four years now without any real problems, however I have encountered problems trying to double head. My loco's are a selection of factory fitted, retro fitted, some with sound. All of my loco's work fine as single units and operate happily with up to four operational at any one time including loco's with sound. My problem is when I create a consit all sorts of things happen. some loco's lights refuse to work, some loco's loose the sound, some locos refuse to move even, sound on a couple of loco's becomes distorted. As a experiment I had six loco's operating at the same time with no issues under there own individual address. Any thoughts, advice, would be much appreciated. Craig.

I think you have answered your own question. My comments clearly indicated mainstream items available from UK dealers instead of continental purchase. Obviously a more obscure item is a whole different ball game.

Most mainstream items are available through the UK dealer network, so buy in the UK and you avoid this problem with returns. Besides most UK dealers will offer a discount and could do with our support right now. Further by buying at a domestic level you also avoid all the hassle of VAT, DUTY and agent handling fee's.

A quick check and I have found one at Scograil in Ipswich at a bargain price of £169.00 with free delivery. This dealer offers a excellent service I have used them many times. Craig.

Hi. Roco BR193, OBB1293 non sound cat no73953. This model sold out to pre order before release, unfortunately the only avenue is checking German/Austrian ebay. There are several listed at the moment around £210.00 At that price maybe consider buying a sound version in the UK? Hope this helps. Craig.

I would step the wall if you are following continental practice, you have certainly got a Swiss feel about things so far.

My comment was of a general nature, Bought from Ian Allen is going back a bit, hardly state of the art which the Hornby 61xx is supposed to be. Like you say runs well, even though the tooling would now be 20years or so old.

Highlights just one of the reasons I moved to continental models. They are beautiful and always do what they are supposed to. There spec is still well advanced of most UK models.

Hi Pete, Great minds think alike. A wet day yesterday found me fitting mirrors to my Rietz post bus which was straightforward, I then set about some of the lorrys for my rolling highway train, What a pain these proved to be, am I the only person who buys super glue that dosen't work. In the end I used PVA and left them overnight I awoke this morning to a perfect result. Love the SBB Vectron, as you know mine has been returned to Roco with a sound problem which was 12 weeks ago. Nothing been heard since dispite a couple of emails sent. This little project has turned out very well and I will let you off re the catenary on this occasion.
