  1. There is an amazing new signal gantry (for a singe signal) June's west of Burnham (Bucks) Station on the down relief line. Basically a tube that must be at @ 300mm wide the is anchored at one end only next to the down main line that goes over the other lines with a few interstimg twists an turns and is probably the longest reach signal I have ever seen! I was on a train earlier this week when I saw this, however I will try and get a photo of this strange looking structure and post it here!
  2. This list just keeps growing and the more that is added to an already busy programme for DJM which in reality means some of the requests even if realistic could take years to appear! Maybe Dave could provide a simple timeline of all the projects he is working on with projected dates for completion along with projects under consideration and projects that have been rejected. New items are then added as and when agreed by Dave. There will be limits here as business confidetiality is vital given the current flood of duplication of models which is occurring! DJM, like any business has finite resources and a never ending want list can become unrealistic and impossible to achieve. XF
  3. I have 4 of these hiding in a cupboard somewhere! Mainline B/G and maroon and Replica IC Charter and SR Green These were to me were the turning point at which model coaches became far more realistic. XF
  4. Got mine this morning looks good value. With regards to the guarantee Lidl by law have to manage returns so if it should fail take it back to your local store. The store i purchased my from informed me to keep the sale receipt in case of issues and that was before I read anything on RMweb. XF
  5. I have to say that the new and rebuilt/lifted bridges between Paddington and Reading up are in the main pleasing to the eye! The Breadcoft Lane bridge in Maidenhead is nearing completion is of metal construction painted green and looks and much better than the rusting and structurally failing eyesore it replaced. XF
  6. I ventured out to Paddington today and saw a few changes and quite a few catenary mountings on near Burnham that appear be stuck up many metres above the group and not pile drived down! There is also an amazing new signal at the west end of Burnham station that is anchored next to the down fast mainline and reaches like giant mechanical arm across to the down relief line a truly strange structure! The relaying of West Dayton goods yard appears to have made little progress over the last few weeks however there appears to be the start of a dive under line at Heathrow Airport Jct at the east side off the junction and I think it maybe to allow freight to cross to an extended goods loop from West Drayton. Many of the stations have had there canopies removed with Maidenhead Station have the appearance of been hit by a Tornado (not the A1 type!) and offere very little shelter from the weather surely some temporary solution could be provided! I spotted a "refurbished" 166 in its new livery and LED light cluster although the at leASTVone of the engines was still hunting on idle and those damn awful windows are still in situ along with the mythical air conditioning equipment! Nearer London the North Pole Depot has multiple lines now connected to the GWML and looks almost complete. One of the property companies that has endless adverts on the radio for new properties is now referred to new CrossRaol Station at Hayes guess I must've have missed that one! LOL All in all progress appears to be very slow I was hoping to see some spurts of activity on the OHLE front and wonder how many more delays there will be to this work. I think we are going to have to put up with Turbos and HST's on the GWML for a few yeas than we are being told at present! XF
  7. I wonder how relevant a paper catalogue is now in a digital age!
  8. This catenary look far more robust than a lot of the ECML electrification and hopefully there will be less wires down incidents. No sign of any new catenary posts in the Msidenhead area yet.
  9. Thomas The Littte Engine That Pushes Hornby Stock Up - hopefully - don't you know!
  10. I had my second letter from Network Rail informing about the work at night in connection with the GWML Electrification work following a false start in December! I might take a trip up to the nearby footbridge to see if any progress has been made in my local area. XF
  11. I used to drop into the shop quite often on trips to and from both Alton and Portsmouth. Bob had lots of stock stored above the shop and always found items remarkably quickly! I wish him all the best in his retirement! XF
  12. FGW's Class 180 are going to Grand Central to replace their HST's. T he Class 800's are a DaFT abomination which Govia is far from happy with - I wonder what the future holds?
  13. I have copies of quite a few Oerlikon Drawings which I cleaned up for Tony and Stanley Melrose however they old and still difficult to read. I have the the London Road Models Oerlikon etches but still have the chassises etc to build. I have been discussing this issue with Terry Tew and looking at ways to move forward with an Oerlikon project. I think the question is how accurate are people expecting the model to be as making some compromises may well reduce the time to produce a model bur may be unacceptable to some!
  14. Roswell and Kenton have something in common as when Kenton was found his first words were UFO!
  15. I think MOD 4 has spent too much time at the at the Resturant At The End Of The Universe!
  16. Can we have a vote for the next member to disappear from the RMweb and before any suggest it, not me !
  17. Welcome back Kenton you have won the RMweb Factor! Now for "Kenton the film" the book, I am RMweb member get me out of here, the DVD and Kenton the Meerkat toy! More Warner Brothers than Warners publishing!
