  5. The whole GWML Electrification Project appears to a fragmented and haphazard way to electrify a railway when compared to the slick way the WCML was electrified in the 1960's i remember the BICC electrification train installed masts at rapid pace along with the "knitting" Is it me or have we gone backwards when it comes to installing new OHLE?

  12. This photo was taken the morning near Burnham Bucks Station and shows one of the mountings for the OHLE gantries. The process appears to be a 3 stage one drill hole, insert mounting part way, pile drive mounting down which can take a couple of weekends to complete. This process does not appear to be being carried out in any logical sequence however my guess this posts are only in certain places and are seated well int the ground in areas which a vulnerable to subsidence. XF

  19. On our holidays in Cornwall last week we came across this little Robin fledgling that had fallen out of the nest in St Just in Roseland One it's parents was trying to help it as it could not fly. We spent about 40 minutes trying to help this little bird and witnessed it calling out to what we assume it's mum who called back and brought food. We left in the best place we could find and having since read up about it and does stand a good chance or survival if it is provided with food from it's parents and that it gains weight and then starts to fly. XF
  20. These photos of the former Langley Oil Depot site taken a couple if weeks ago from a passing train. The site now has two sidings joined together at the station end to form a loop. As can be seen from the photos the site is home to the Balfour Beattie (on hire) Class 20's with one still displaying a 150 headcode from lat year when it was then pinged in LT red. The Langley Oil Depot site is now being used for work associated with CrossRail and the GWML Electrification. XF
