  1. Not quite what you describe and since this photo was taken a few more LT Brake Vans have been added XF
  2. It can take a few weeks - however I would drop a polite follow up mail though Nigel
  3. Sarah Siddons is a will travelled loco and long may she continue to do so! XF
  4. Here a few from the 1960's/70's Bold & Burrows - St Albans Hobby Centre - Watford Obourne's - Watford Barham's - Falmouth XF
  5. No problem for me Croxley WRD is fully compliant XF
  6. It depends on how free running the stock is - I found that 5 4 wheel wagons was about the limit XF
  7. I never received a refund of postage and received the damaged body a new body and chassis separately this was over 2 years ago though. It reminds me of the late and great Sir Peter Parker's comments about the "crumbling edge of quality" comments about BR! XF
  8. In the meantime there are always these! XF
  9. I currently travel from Maidenhead to Burnham every day and I have noticed how many more HST's are travelling a t@ 50mph with green aspects ahead. This is very noticeable inbound to London in the morning and vice-versa in the evenings. There are not any PW restrictions or similar I just think that it is thew sheer weight of traffic. So with the extra traffic which CrossRail will bring just how fast is the service to London going to be in reality and will we see lots of 50 InEP's meandering along the GWML? It needs to be a six track railway from Reading to London if the CrossRail investment is going to be fully realised! XF
  10. CrossRail is going onto Reading at last someone on high has made a good decision! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-26762551 However at 2 trains an hour which is no faster than the current service it has hardly a metro service. There needs to be six tracks from Reading to London and then we can have a proper service! XF
  11. I bet the LT Museum will run a limited edition at some point. XF
  12. I fancy another Met Bo Bo electric loco for Croxley WRD! Xf
  13. I work for a large telecoms company and we put SIMS that provide all sorts of functionality in many devices with minimal effort - Come on model rail manufacturers listen to your customers ,we have had enough of sub optimal solutions so please get your acts together and provide us with quality solutions and then we will stop shouting at you! XF
  14. I have managed to release the screw now however fitting the decoder needs a lot of patience. When will the model railway manufacturers make fitting a DCC chip easy or failing that, provide pills to reduce the blood pressure of their customers! XF
  15. This has happened to me too and to be honest I think this will be my last Hornby loco because as one production problem is sorted out another appears! Forget "design clever" and go for assemble correctly; why should modellers have now start drilling out screws on a brand new loco? I now intend to return my Sentinel to Hornby as it is"not fit for purpose" in my opinion. Rant over Nigel
  16. Falmouth Docks had one in this livery - your loco looks good XF
  17. Not sure if this has already being posted however I came across on the FGW site yesterday. I am not exactly FGW's greatest fan however I think this video together with the efforts they have made during the recent storms has been very good XF
  18. Something different to say the least - Thomas has plastic surgery springs to mind! XF
  19. The middle car is a DBS with a half yellow front panel! Units 051 and 052 appear to have been a common pool with coaches re-marshalled for specific tests XF
  20. This has been posted on RMweb before and shows Class 501 EMU vehicles from units 051 and 052. The one covered by a tarpaulin was potentially the vehicle used for sliding doors tests at Strawberry Hill Depot http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianews/5734184585/ As an aside here is my model of the wrecked 411 vehicle also in the photo
  21. If I recall correctly, Railway World November 1971 had a photo of both 051 and 052 at Redhill Depot soon after there transfer to the Southern Region. XF
  22. AOR featuring the recently departed Fergie Frederiksen RIP
  23. Nice work Colin - I can see your 2BIL becoming more accurate them the real NRM one - 2090 Nigel
