1. Well done- I couldn't even read the numbers on my B-sets, let alone change them! Will check out the model master transfers, I have used Fox for my goods stock,
2. Sheds rule! (when not sub-zero cold...) The above sounds familiar to many I suspect. I would ditch the insulafrog points if goind DCC. Converting to live frogs is not as hard as people make it sound and you'll get better reliabilty. Looking forward to pictures too.
3. DCC Supplies Cobalts if you want real slow action and frog power http://www.dccsupplies.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2949
4. Like the smoke box, tender sides and boiler sides, some obvious brush marks on the tender (sorry) but mostly better than mine so I should shut up at this point... Perhaps an airbrush or a flat ended style "stippling" brush for the dust or try powders?
5. Nice work- I have been painting fantasy minautures for years and would be well pleased with that! Eyes are a sod to do tho.
6. Great- now I just have to persuade the family this will work in our living room...
7. What sort of controls are you going to use? Look forward to seeing some pics as it develops.
8. I know plenty of people who use woodburners in sheds or caravans, often made from old gas canisters (don't try cutting them up yourself!) the key is to totally heatshield all wood around them. I am not sure I'd put one in a shed smaller than 10'x12' tho, they are about 3-5KW minimum and need a large heatproof plate in the roof as well.
I'd take the above advice if your shed is small. If its bigger then clarke make a good propane "space heater" thing but they can blow the air around a bit which can be a pain if your floors dusty.
Jon, inspirational and original as always. That rain effect isn't bad, what programme is it?
9. There are several bridges carrying lanes across the branch in the run up to Sorley, all in town and mostly acessible to the public. I am currently modelling my 2nd overbridge.
10. Amazing tiny work as usual.
11. Ouch- Broken ribs suck. Hope you're mended soon.
12. Thanks Kris. Those drawings you sent sorted out my KBridge plans. If you would like a scale set of drawings for the main station building I now have them. That was my thinking too. I am trying to make a few modular scenic boards so I can vary the length of the run in. Eventually I plan to have some sections from the whole length of the branch, the crossing station and maybe the main line junction station at Brent so I can run some mainline engines and stock, plus have a branch service leaving an tootling down the branch. I have no idea where I'd be able to operate such a layout however...
13. You decide... Just messed around with a few pics in Photoshop. Nowhere near professional standard but kept me off the streets....
14. Very nice. I see one of these everytime I go on the SDR and yours certailnly looks as good as the 1:1 scale one.
15. Good luck with the job, hard times for everyone, hope you get a chance for some well earned relaxation.
16. Yes but you have to make all your track and most of your stock! Where did you get the 2 courses of red brick for the arch on your Avon bridge? I need some similiar for the 3 arch bridge on the old Plymouth road.
17. Mental levels of detail...........(eyes water looking at enlarged pictures...)
18. If I can get my rolling stock up to the standard of yours and Kris' I will be most surprised...
19. Thanks Missy- Gaps are on the list- Photos are definately crueler than the naked eye! Is your railmotor running now? Haven't had time to catch up with everyone yet.
