it was costed up a few years ago at £26 million. Deemed not worth the money so now on the back burner as they say.

Only 1 was used up until about 1985/86. Then if there was a switch for it the other one that was switched on as well. With the new builds of units 142/150 etc these were both fitted via the one switch. With regards the manufacturers, it really anoys me that either they cant be switched off or both are lit when the period dictates that only one was used.

Even shorter TPO was the Lincoln to Derby which comprised a POS(sorting) and 1 BG.It joined up with the Peterboro to Crewe TPO at Derby which was formed of 2 BG ,POS and POT.
