  1. The shots show locations where the speed is very low, so 'rigid' catenary designs can be used. The catenary around Kings Cross Thameslink probably would not have lasted very long with high speed running. The 319s were so close to the sides that when one went past the 'Spiral Staircase' a bit quickly and got a rock on it took the door off a wall mounted signalling location case.
  2. Am I in the right month? Still using our own tomatoes and salads, strawberries just turning red, honeysuckle in flower, blossom coming out on the ornamental cherry. Surely not on the edge of the Pennines in December.

  3. Just got to the equality monitoring section of a survey. It asked if I am Straight / Gay / Bidi / other. Anyone know what the "other" is please?

  4. BT messing about last night - my internet speed has gone from 3meg yesterday to 13meg this morning. RMweb works great at that.

Just touching 2.5 to 3mb here, fibre is being installed in the area and because we have the employee broadband its a free upgrade.

fibre was installed here already but only to the exchange 7 miles away! The cable to the road slows everything down again.

  5. So do I and a lot of others of our era. Happy Birthday
  6. Financial authority for trackwork on new layout granted. Better spend it quick.

  7. I see it now, in a separate box. Lost interest before I got that far down the listing.
  8. Can't see the loading ramp either
  9. Must be one of the "Little People" as the item specifics say it's never been out of the box. Pretty handy with Photoshop as well to cut and paste it onto that background without getting it out.
  10. Just back from a night ride from Hadfield to Woodhead with the ghosts of Valehouse, Torside and Crowden - awesome

  11. Rules of Weathering - No.1. Miss a bit the size of a pinhead on the underframe and it will stick out like a sore thumb when you photograph it.

  12. My 18-month old Grandson has just come into the railway room, climbed onto my seat and sent a pannier tank along the test plank - MEMO TO ME - fit some foam pads on the end boards.

  13. So enthralled at the sight and sound of a Super D for the first time in 48 years that I completely messed up the pan shot on the movie camera

  15. Strange glow in the sky over the Pennines. It's rumoured that the sun may put in an appearance, but I probably wouldn't recognise it if I saw it

  16. Comes to something when travelling on the Birmingham Cross City line is a pleasant interlude

  17. Four hours of underfloor diesels in one day is more than anyone should have to put up with.

  20. Perhaps they mixed it up from some tins they had left over from the Maunsell era.
  21. Pennine weather this afternoon - can forget any ideas of gardening and get on with the modelling.

  22. Why is it that when I drop a bit of flushglaze it disappears then turns up in a different place 4 days later?

long ago, one often heard of the very frequent small win, NOW????? Rarely, This is one the most 'fixed scams' on offer. Remember in the past the treble chance, that was a lottery, the National Lottery machines they use are fixed so only a few large payouts chosen by computer are given. I defy them to use both the machines in front of the TV on the same event. they will both dispense the same numbers.Lets get back to the balls in the bag,Or, is it the chance of that ONE big win that d...
