  6. The drill bit fairy strikes again. Used it on Friday, Saturday, couldn't find it on Sunday. Just mysteriously turned up today.

  8. Planned to tidy the allotment today. Still, never mind, kitchen painted and 3 vans weathered so far.

  9. Think at 22 months old Grandson is showing Midland tendencies. Put two small engines on front of Brio train and shouted "Double Heading".

  11. Praise be for photo manipulation software. Scanned a lot of old slides then realised one group were backwards

  12. 18 minutes in the Post Office queue then 10 seconds for the transaction.

  13. Am I in the right month? Still using our own tomatoes and salads, strawberries just turning red, honeysuckle in flower, blossom coming out on the ornamental cherry. Surely not on the edge of the Pennines in December.

  14. Just got to the equality monitoring section of a survey. It asked if I am Straight / Gay / Bidi / other. Anyone know what the "other" is please?

      Just touching 2.5 to 3mb here, fibre is being installed in the area and because we have the employee broadband its a free upgrade.

      fibre was installed here already but only to the exchange 7 miles away! The cable to the road slows everything down again.

  18. Rules of Weathering - No.1. Miss a bit the size of a pinhead on the underframe and it will stick out like a sore thumb when you photograph it.

  19. My 18-month old Grandson has just come into the railway room, climbed onto my seat and sent a pannier tank along the test plank - MEMO TO ME - fit some foam pads on the end boards.

  22. Strange glow in the sky over the Pennines. It's rumoured that the sun may put in an appearance, but I probably wouldn't recognise it if I saw it
