  1. There are other RTR points available & kits, though possibly not exported, Marcway (copperclad sleepers), C&L Finescale (plastic sleepers). I can recommend both as a customer, there might be others which I have not used. Best advice I can offer is what I was told, join the Gauge 0 Guild, did that many years ago & the information available is vast. As others have commented, once 0 gauge hits you, you are hooked.
  2. Out in the car for the weekend ( Scottish Triumph TRs ) to Grantown-on-Spey, even though Motormania was unfortunately cancelled. We do enjoy our runs particularly over the mountains via Glenshee & The Lecht. Anyway quite a few total idiots in modern "racing" versions of normal cars, mainly with either blacked out or rainbow effect windows driving at insane speeds, overtaking on blind bends & humps, & tailgating each other, often during overtaking. There is no other description but racing. Think it must of been this bunch - Scotland Rally – Pulse Rally so must have plenty of money. Surprised there wasn't a major crash with fatalities. ps Thunder in the Glens (HDs) went through Speyside last weekend & appears to have been the usual, noisy, busy, good fun, safe & absolutely no litter of problems. In the past we have had some HDs mix in with us over these roads as they can relax in among our groups in great roads.
  3. Looked at my copy of "The Power of the A2s", Gavin Morrison. All The P2 photos appear to be pre war.
  4. Not sure what scale you are using, but unless you can get round the back of the baseboard, you won't be able to reach the fiddle-yard. Are you planning to use set-track only, if so, don't be afraid of cutting a piece (or two) to make it easier to fit in. You don't need an expensive minidrill & cutting discs, a razor saw id fine, just watch your fingers !!

    On Cats

If it was Garfield. just add lasagna
  6. It's a bit windy today !
  7. Most LGV drivers seem to think their speed limit is 60 on SINGLE carriageways in Scotland - strangely complaints to the police don't seem to have much effect. Would appear that Sturgeon has told them to ignore the "problem" just like parties, mask wearing & social distancing during COVID.
  8. I wonder how many of the upset photographers would be driving to the spot they want & parking their cars on the tinder dry verges. Nothing like a hot exhaust pipe, especially a catalysed one to set fire to long verge grass. Then they would be blaming their insurance company for not paying out & charging them for the damage to crops etc & fire brigade costs.
  9. Exactly the same with the German rot boxes from the same era, in fact well into the '80s. Seen & owned them. In fact my mk2 Polo (which I inherited as a poor student) had paper & glue covered wings held together by paint, the metal having rusted out below the paper.
  10. Pickersgill had the same problem in 1923 when he designed the 3 cylinder 956 class for the Caledonian Railway. Complex series of pins & levers, possibly (?) to get round patents. Didn't work well.
  11. Thanks Richard Yes, the fuel injection is well sorted now, the main problem was that garages did not understand & probably ignored the manuals. Probably a bit ahead of its time like many British cars. The same thing happened with the Stag, one of the first to have an alloy engine which needed coolant. Big under bonnet notices to advise that coolant was needed all year, for some garages to refill with water in the summer - result warped cylinder heads & BL / the cars got the blame.
  12. part 2 On Monday we held a photo shoot at the Glasgow Transport Museum and the Tall Ship. Monday was the first day of the school holidays & lots of weans. Much interest from the wee weans & the big ones. Many couldn't believe that the car was older than their grandparents. The pictures at the front were taken before the museum opened. We were parked right outside the front door. The museum staff couldn't have been more helpful, full marks to them. www.glasgowlife.org.uk/museums/venues/riverside-museum Yes, that is a citroen light 15 in the 4th photo, a club member. The white TR6 in the 4th photo is I think, the oldest TR6 , again being a preproduction car. After a couple of hours, we moved round behind the museum to the Tall Ship (Glenlee), for some more photos. www.thetallship.com TS2 is continuing it's Scottish adventures up north, then round & down via Dundee & Edinburgh to Northumberland & back down south. I didn't drive it this time, having done so the last time it went on tour in 2007. Resting beside big brother ps, Moscow is in Ayrshire
  13. TS2, the right hand drive prototype Triumph TR is currently on tour round Britain. The car is owned by the TR Register and is going round the country for member to see & drive and for the public to see. The car was assembled off the production line in 1953. TS1 (the left hand drive prototype is in the USA). The Clyde Valley group accepted it at the Moffat Car Show on Sunday (brilliant event back on after covid), even if this year was a wee bit damp. How damp is shown by what a big american 4 x 4 did to the field, the idiot had to be pulled out by a Landy, which looked tiny in comparison. end of part 1
  14. Some areas have the problem that the vans are almost permanently parked, with the occupants coming & going by car at weekends etc.
  15. Imaging explaining that to the insurance
  16. If anyone is worried about a hydrogen fire, I suggest they look at the u-tube clips of battery fires, particularly the (latest?) one of a bus. I would not like to be in or near such a vehicle if it went up. Very hot chemical fire with a flame like a blow torch which would set light to anything near.
  17. I remember that train, might have been Wolverhampton ?
  18. Ayjay, might be worth making a complaint to Companies House, they do NOT like rogue directors. I have done so, & although it did not completely close the company down, it made life & admin "awkward" for the directors.
  19. Yes, some rather large plastic planes, so not much weight. Don't want heavy shelves (avoiding heavy fixing plugs), especially as they will be fairly deep. If the expanded poly does not work, then could try light tongue & groove.
  20. A wee nudge as our show is this weekend. The Bring & Buy threatens to be busy - Charles will be pleased !!
