  1. Pretty sure I remembered this being discussed www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/150096-scotrail-mk2-coaches-query/&tab=comments#comment-3905499 also on a few other threads
  2. I don't have any regulations to quote, but I suspect the length of train delivering would partly depend on the maximum quantity of explosives that the user was allowed to store. This suspect that it might depend on the security on site, time period & location.
  3. I am looking for a small amount of 3mm cork sheet or tile to put under points, not bothered if it is damaged or odd bits, as I can piece together. Regards Duncan
  4. A ringing phone is designed to mimic a crying baby, hard to ignore
  5. Nick, I think your Mother might be hit with exchange charges each month if she is paying a sterling pension into a euro account. Is there maybe an Italian Bank with a UK branch which would work ?
  6. Why bother with the crane, a set of jacks would have been fine, surprised they didn't knock off when the loco was right across the road !
  7. Is that a bit of rubbish on the left hand rail or a rail bandage ?
  8. Sven Friends of the West Highland Line https://westhighlandline.org.uk & The North British Railway Study Group https://www.nbrstudygroup.co.uk might have plans or know where originals might be, but they are small charities / groups & will be isolating & winding down for Christmas. Duncan
  9. I know the car drivers were in the right to cross, but did they not glance to the side when about to cross - don't most people ? Were the train lights not clearly visible, as it was after dark ? Or am I just IAM trained ?
  10. Jet propulsion pipes, sorry will retire to contemplate !
  11. Had a fantastic flight to Perpignan in a Comet, quiet & smooth. Seemed pretty large for the airport as it wound round & over small parked planes, one of the best flights I have ever had.

  13. I'm sure I remember travelling to school in this or very similar, would be late 60s / early 70s. Blue Midland in Glasgow.
  14. Isn't the A pillar / roof section there supposed to be very strong in case the care overturns ? Certainly doesn't look very impressive !
  15. better than leaving screws in the soap, that can cause irritation
  16. Is this allowed here ? Train collides with trampoline https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/1300B/production/_115153877_trampoline2.jpg
  17. Not Westerton unless Clive was there many years ago, as the Milngavie junction has been single lead & single line for 20 ? years.
  18. We lost friends crossing the North Sea in a yacht which hit a container at night. Only the person on deck survived, & he nearly didn't. as his life line dragged him down until he could cut it. Hope this won't end the jokes & amusing stories though.
  19. The Triumph straight 6 engine weighs less than the old 4 pot, not really surprising as the 4 is an old wet liner. The 6 is like a turbine, just keeps spinning up, lovely, mated to a TR6.
