  4. The show is now on the exhibition calendar. There should be some signs on the roadways near the venue for those travelling in by car mainly from from the east, following the A48 To those who are a bit more familiar with Cardiff, the site is close to the old HTV studio site, and adjacent to the large changing room facility for the sports grounds at Pontcanna fields. ( behind llandaff fields).

Visited the Cogan leisure centre swap meet yesterday, picked up this part built kit with all the rest still in box. Cracking model of an essential vehicle down at Dow. Someone has already started scratch building 4mm cabs. £5.00. Happy days.

  13. I have used cobalt digitalis on my last four layouts. ( re used ) I like the idea behind them, the easy connections, the positive throw, the ease of installation, and the simple programming. I don't like the unexplained loss of address which can and has on numerous occasions occured following a short. I manage to pre test my layout befor a show, dismantle it, transport it, set it up and, wham, it is the norm for one or more to have failed. This has occurred this weekend at a show and has been very frustrating, I managed to remove and swap one motor, but a second is just dead. On a positive note, the frequent over stressing of the cogs that resulted in a continual ratcheting of the Motor is easily cured with the replacement of a cog that comes in the post from Australia after a week or so, which you fit yourself. My next layout will have solenoids and a CDU.

  18. On my part, yes, I won't be sharing any information or pictures gleaned during my research into building the layout. But a simple search on the Internet produces plenty of results.
  19. Common sense prevails. Email from PR @ DOW CORNING. I can use their name when describing the layout. Personally though, I'm sticking with Vopak.

  22. The Taunton show have now updated their website with a review of this great event. Follow the link and be encouraged to try and attend next year, a cracking show. http://www.somersetrmc.org.uk/Rail-EX/Review.htm The layout is now being serviced ready for its next outing, found some merit traffic cones, and additional Kadees, so a few hours of TLC later. Sourced more ply, so time to start planning what I'm gonna build next. Tunnel, concrete ring plant, a re make of castle works, Additional board for Vopak with a loop,
